Macrumors, you are SLIPPING.

This was debunked BEFORE you even posted it.

(read the comments from TUAW. Says "SMS" when 3.0 changed it to "Messages," it's missing the spotlight search icon to the left of the page indicator dots, lighting issues, missing recording app which is on the home page in 3.0, recessed headphone jack, etc.)

Macrumors, don't just try to drum up traffic. You're better than this.

I like how the back is flat. I will once again be able to set the phone on a desk and type with my index finders. I find that that is the fastest typing for me.

But headphone jack on the bottom? Kinda weird.

I actually prefer the headphone jack on the bottom. Easier to slip into the pocket. And I never type on a desk, it's always thumbs =)

I doubt Apple would have the FCC logos etc all in super bright white on the rear. You can barely see it on the current model.

Wow, this made it to the front page?

-"SMS" icon is wrong (it's now "Messages")
-No Voice Memos app (it's on the front page in the latest beta, under YouTube...though this could of course change)
-Old boxed 3G icon (dead giveaway...why don't these fakers ever use the latest version of the OS)
-No Spotlight
-Headphone jack on the bottom? It's on the top because of the speaker and mic at the bottom! Where is the mic gonna go if this is the case?

i kind of agree with having the headphone jack on the bottom as well. i guess it goes both ways with different instances of where the phone is..

Agreed. Jack on the bottom doesn't make sense.

Well, it's on the bottom of the iPod touch. Now that I think about it, it works better. Instead of the headphone cable dangling over the back of my hand while I select music, it will just fall out the bottom.

Also, when taking the iPhone from upright position and putting it into your pocket, you wouldn't have to keep it upright, you can put it upside down in your pocket which is less work.

Yeah, actually, I hope the headphone jack is on the bottom now. Though, if the sleep/wake button is on the top left like the iPod touch, that is going to take some getting used to.

Okay, obviously it's not running 3.0. Now, your point about the headphone jack is kind of lame. They're engineers. They design these devices. I'm pretty sure Apple knows they will need to move the microphone to put the headphone jack there.

Maybe the thing at the top is the loudspeaker. That would make sense and reduce the amount of hand blockage/muffling of the speaker on the bottom. Plus, docks would no longer have to route the sound out.

I hope Apple brings back the form factor of the original iPhone. I like it much better.

It would be better the other way - the top is the speaker, the middle is for the camera and other sensors.

Or camera and sensors behind glass, bottom one ear speaker, top one speaker phone speaker, probably a good place for it. Bottom headphone and mic only. I thought this location for headphones strange on my touch but now like it. I can put it in my pocket with the cord sticking out and when I grab it and pull it out it's in my hand the right way.

I hope (and believe) these images are fake

The headphone jack on the bottom would be a step backwards as far as ease-of-use and comfort is concerned :/

Also, as many have already said, the new iPhone would not be running iPhone 2.0 if these images were from Apple's website or even from somewhere else altogether; a very strong reason to doubt these.

Can't wait for the new iPhone, but I prefer the current one if this is what the new one is really like.

Trim doesn't look like it matches the leaked one which wasn't a complete ring around the screen, the part below the screen wasn't there on the part but looks to be in this pic.

Yeah, the headphones coming out of the bottom definitely makes more sense and I find it a lot better this way when using an iPod touch. Putting it upside down in your pocket also is easier as when you take it out with your hand its already the correct way up in your palm. Also it looks neater when plugged in charging, as both cables come from the bottom.

I'm hoping this is fake. The headphone jack at the bottom resembles the
original iPhone's headphone jack. If they switch back... oh dear, oh dear.

The fact that it's running 2.0 (not even 2.1--see the 3G icon) proves it is fake, absolutely beyond a doubt. Why? Because if this is the new phone it is going to be shipping with 3.0 out of the box. There will be no way to put 2.0 on it (why would you anyway?). You can't put 1.0 on the 3G.

Why is it that people make such bad fakes? If you're gonna go through the trouble at least make it semi-believable. I would probably be on the side of these being real IF they had only used an iPhone running 3.0 instead of 2.0.
