this is why i order from apple :). this really sucks.. i was gunna order from att but i was like no..

• I placed my order through the Premier site around 1pm CDT on June 15.
• On 6/17, status through Premier changed to “Attention,” indicating that Premier was unable to verify my credit card information. Spoke to Premier ~ 1pm on June 17, where I learned that I mistyped my credit card number. Rep was able to enter the correct information, told me order had gone through appropriately, and that my order should still go out with everyone else on the 24th. Rep also stated that my account status through Premier should update in 12-24 hours.

Today (6/21)
• Order status through Premier has yet to update – still lists status as “Attention.” Automated Premier phone message says that my order is processing and should complete in the next business day.
• I have seen no credit card authorizations or charges of any kind or amount.
• No shipping confirmation or tracking number yet.
• Cannot access the regular AT&T order status page - I get the error OS001.
• I Just got through on the phone to Premier rep to ensure my correct credit card info was entered on 6/17. Rep told me that everything looks good on his end, and that as far as he can tell my order should be shipped shortly and should arrive in the 6/24 to 6/25 window. When I mentioned that the Premier account status webpage hadn't updated, Rep laughed and said that the page isn't at all accurate and shouldn’t be relied on. Instead, customers should either (a) call and speak to a rep or (b) be patient and wait for AT&T to send you an email

The rep was very nice and answered my questions, but I don’t know that I believe I’ll actually have my phone by Friday.


This is pretty much exactly what happened to me. Actually ordered at the same time, 12:05 pm PST. Except instead of having an incorrect number, AMEX rejected the charge as a fraud alert (I got a call from them and cleared it up last Thursday). Status has not changed at all and no charges have been made to my card at all.

I've called a bunch of times and was told the web status should update in 12 hours ... every time they say that, it has not. Who knows. I will be very surprised if my order makes it out this week.
 
did you actually speak to someone? they can process it for you.
2nd time around, still no change. I asked her to re-process the order. She put me on hold for about 5 min, and said I should expect more information on the status page later today.
 
One other data point. When checking my order on Premier, it reads:
New Service
iPhone 4 - 32GB BlackNation 450 w/Rollover $39.99

On the email it reads correctly that this is an upgrade.

I placed a preorder for two iPhones (me & wife) through Premier on 6/15 at 5:30AM EST. Order status on the Premier is stuck on processing with a Last Updated of 6/19. Checking the ATT&T regular order status shows that the order was placed on 6/19, and stuck IN PROGRESS, with backordered on everything.

Other friends who ordered via premier, way after me, have had their orders shipped with tracking. Ugh!

Okay I am sick of this; I'm on the phone with them again even though my status on their automated message says I'm processing. The website still says attention and the fact that some people are getting theirs TOMORROW and many others who ordered AFTER me have shipped pisses me off to no end. :mad:

Is anyone still in this boat?
 
I dunno, I think the rep I had this morning was overwhelmed from all the crazy customers this week. She wanted me off the phone ASAP and refused to manually process the order over the phone.

There was nothing that she could see holding my order up, and people are frantically getting all the orders pushed through all day (no specific times) to be shipped out by the 24th. I guess the 25th isn't so bad - we leave for vacation the morning of the 27th... as long as I get a tracking number at some point!!

Even though my order status still says "Attention!" and it's not showing up on the regular AT&T website she said it will and they're doing their best to see to that. If there are any problems they'll email me again.

So here I wait... again.

Yep yep, same story every time I call. "Everything looks fine." "No, there are no holds on your account." "We'll ship your order soon."

I give up.
 
I placed two orders at 1:45pm EDT (6/15) from AT&T Premier business:
- 1 iPhone 16GB Black
- 1 iPhone 32GB Black

AT&T Premier Order Status page has always shown "Processing" with an order date of 6/15, last updated 6/17. I consider the premier order status page to be useless.

Previously I was unable to see any order status (OS001) on the main AT&T order site. I called the 866-499-8008 and the automated system said that my order has been processed and would ship soon. I talked to a rep who checked both of my orders and said they were fine. Of course he was vague about the actual ship date, pointing out that 6/24 is merely the release date.

As of this morning, the main AT&T order site does show both of my orders, however they look like this:

- iPhone 16GB Black, Order Date 6/16, In Progress, 0 Backordered
- iPhone 32GB Black, Order Date 6/16, In Progress, 1 Backordered

The only emails I've received are the original Premier order confirmations from 6/15.

I had a hold on my card for both. Now the charge went through for the 16GB, but not the 32GB -- and the hold is no longer there for the 32GB.

My conclusion so far:

Those of you in a similar situation (OS001 until recently) are probably just the unlucky ones that somehow got bumped to the end of the line with me, and I doubt we'll see our phones 6/24. I expect to maybe see the non-backordered one on 6/25, but probably won't see the backordered one until at least 6/28. (unfortunately the backordered one is replacing my broken phone, so it looks like i'll be phoneless for another week.)

I can only assume that AT&T's broken site resulted in a lot of earlier orders not making it through the automated system, thus they had to be reconciled manually on 6/16 by employees -- some 6/17, as I'm hearing. Perhaps they eventually fixed their site in the afternoon and that's why some orders made later than ours have shipped, as they were automated.

Sounds about right to me. At this point I'm resigned to expecting a new phone in 1-2 weeks... I've wasted a little too much time on this whole ordeal.

i ordered on 6/15 mine is still backordered, luckly i have a reservation at apple too i may go pick it up there

My thoughts exactly. I'd still love to get my new phone this week, but I'm trying to stop obsessively refreshing my order status and credit card account activity page.

And after checking my order status one more time, my AT&T Premier order status just cleared the "Attention" notice and went back to "Processing." The automated phone message on the Premier help line now says that my order will be completed in the next 1-2 business days (previously it said that my order should complete in the next business day, I think). Still nothing on the main order page, but I suppose it's still progress.
 
It is still possible for 6/24 arrival -- they're using overnight shipping, and 37 hours remain until midnight 6/24, so if they continue to bash out these orders the possibility remains. Both this thread and "**AT&T iPhone 4 Order Status Thread**" show that backorders are still being cleared and, eventually, shipped. I consider "backordered" just means that my line in the queue is further than the qty of units AT&T has scanned into their system. In other words, their receiving department is still scanning them in, fulfillment is still allocating and shipping them, and the phone with my name on it is simply sitting in the receiving dock waiting to go through the process.
 
Here is a notable post for those of you who aren't reading :

Pissed off right now. Summary of my situation:

1. Preordered through ATT Premier @ 12:10 PM Central on the 15th
2. Date ordered through premier site shows 15th and has a check mark under processed
3. Date ordered in regular ATT status shows 06/16/2010 and still backordered

I called asking WTF is it still backordered when people who purchased after me are already having theirs shipped.

CSR replied there was a problem in their system with many credit cards on the 15th even if they were entered correctly and the orders had to manually be entered in on the 16th. Then continued stating that the charge will show up on my bill instead of credit card once it's shipped out.

I then said so ATT lied when it said orders will ship on first come first serve basis.

CSR said i'm sorry.

I said this sucks.

CSR said, I right now see 5100 on backorder and 10000 coming in shipment by this evening so I'm fairly confident that you'll receive yours on the 24th. He told me to check again tommorow morning and if not updated with tracking to call back.

So basically even though i ordered early, I might not be getting it on launch day...

Talked to the rep - she said everything looks fine...she has no clue why it isnt updated or why I cannot see my order.

She said it should update at some point.

I think the short answer at this point is that there's nothing you can do. If your billing information is correct, and there are no holds on your order, apparently all we can do is wait and hope that AT&T processes our order.

Until someone tells us whether there's a specific instruction to tell the CSR, they're all going to do pretty much the same thing -- verify your account info, look to see if there are any flags on it, and then tell you to wait.

One told me at some point she saw apple looked at it...but that was it. She also told me to go to a store.

I got so fed up I went to an AT&T store and since they didn't help me place the order and I don't have a current account with them they could do nothing for me - not even make a phone call or check the status - and told me they got a lot of pre-orders and they're trying to get them all out.

My Premier status still says "Attention!"
 
My non-backordered 16GB now has a tracking number but isn't listed as "shipped." Carrier is currently listed as "null"

My backordered 32GB hasn't changed yet.
 
I guess the only thing we can do is go to the Apple Store or an AT&T store Wednesday and camp out.

If I have no shipping confirmation by about 9pm tomorrow night, I'll be lining up with the masses and spending the night in a hot parking lot outside my local AT&T store - just like I did when the 3G came out.

I wish I could get someone at AT&T Premier to actually talk to me. After I check order status at 866-499-8008, they hang-up on me when I ask to talk to a rep. No hold music, just a message that they're too busy to deal with me.

Grrrrrr.
