My black 32GB 3G S is perfect.

No dead pixels. Colours seem more vivid than on my 1st gen. No cracks in the case. Bezel aligned. GPS and compass both work. No light leaks.

i got a perfect 32gb black iphone 3g i love ittttt!!! I just need to sell my 3G off :p

The build quality on mine is great. No light leak, no wonky sim tray, no cracks, no dead pixels, and no yellow tint. I love the screen. I usually have bad luck and get the display model no one wants but this time I got the best. The only issue I note is the wifi signal strength is a little off but I think that could be corrected with a firmware update.

I must say, i'm really impressed. I was a little leery of switching to an iphone again. But they really fixed almost everything that i used to complain about when i had the 2G. Our love affair lasted about a month. Then i passed it along to my girlfriend.

I'm a phone junkie, i'm mainly an S60 user, but since the iphone i also went through some high end windows mobile phones.

as the updates came along for my girlfriends iphone, my eyebrow perked up more and more.

earlier this year, i started thinking about getting one. But then, paying $20 more a month for the same exact $30 unltd data/text package seemed ridiculous.

the thing that really sent me over board was when i locked myself out a couple weeks ago.
I had my Nokia 5800 in my pocket, and had to wait about 40 minutes for my girlfriend to come rescue me.

Im staring at the 5800 like, ok....keep me entertained please.

yeah.....it was a long 40 minutes.

anyways, i love my white 3GS. its really great. the screen is great, the buttons are great, the build is great.

i'm very happy

Uneven bezel/ flushed display

I wish I could say the same as you guys, but my phone has a flush display on the right side which gives a sort of sharp feeling when you touch it, left side is fine though.

I was going to get it replaced for this issue but when I went back to the store the display model was the same way, making me think it's common.
Do you think Rogers can get me a replacement model when the supplies go back up, even though I used more than 30 minutes talk time?

No complaints here - the difference in speed coming from a 2G phone is really impressive.

Couldn't agree more, I had one crash after it turned itself on in the same boot as the activation, things like camera wouldnt open the shutter. Since doing a full reboot, its been running flawless for the last 24hrs. Loving it coming from 1st gen.

thank goodness i never had problems with all of my iPhone purchases from my 2g, 3g, and now my 3gS.. all is great :D

My 3GS is perfect. No dust under the screen, no dead pixels, no scratches or cracks, no tint to the screen or washed out look, no raised bezel.. nothing. Everything is just right. I love how the home button sits in the case. It almost feels like it's just a dent in the glass instead of a button because I can't even feel an edge. It's seamless.

No issues here... No Light leaks.. no sound issues... no problems. * Keeps fingers crossed *

Perfect black 32GB here. :)

I did notice the warm color temp on the display. I compared it with my 2G, and the 3G is very close to my 17" UB calibration (at 6500K). The 2G is actually way off to the cool side. I would say, if anything, the 3G is slightly warmer than the Mac, but it's very "normal" looking.

edit: Since this is a "positive" thread (few and far between), I have a couple of other thoughts on the new design.

The new oleophobic display surface is awesome. I liken it to the new glass trackpads - it always feels smooth and frictionless. Finger smears are almost non-existent.

The speaker is much louder and has better low/mid end frequency response. The loudness makes the speakerphone actually useable. The low/mid improvement was very noticeable while playing "Real Racing".

Knocking on wood as I type this..........but yeah, mine is perfect as well.

I went through 2 original iphones due to issues and my 3g had the light leak, not that I cared but I guess it was not "perfect".

After having gone through 8 exchanges during the week that followed last year's iphone 3G, I've come to say that this, my first and hopefully last iPhone 3GS, is perfect. No dead pixels, battery issues, cracked body or loose buttons to report.
