5S No Longer Works with Sony Clock Radio

This is a 30pin dock with a lightning adapter. Always worked perfectly with iOS7, now with iOS8 it no longer "wakes" the phone an plays music in the morning. I can still play music off of the phone through the radio/dock/lighning adapter if I start it "manually".

The past couple of days my iPhone 6 has randomly rebooted at least three times that I'm aware of.

The screen turns blue the white Apple screen appears then the the screen turns red and the white Apple screen appears and the phone starts up again as if I held down the home and power button to restart.

I'm not sure what's causing this. Anyone else experience this?

I have gotten so good at typing apples keyboard no longer offers me word suggestions above the keyboard. I am so pleased with myself :) but would have liked a badge and a sound to mark my accomplishment :)

/s

in answer to this I somehow managed to switch predictive text off or it automatically turned itself off. Im going with it automatically turned off :D

I looked under settings/accesabitlty/keyboards and found it off. Then I tried to work out how I could have turned it off via texting. I found by holding down the smiley face on the keyboard that a pop up appears with the option at the top. Maybe I accidentally turned it off this way while fumbling around in the dark with invert colours and grey scale turned on but i can't be sure and I can't see how but **** happens so :)

edit

is it necessary to have auto correct suggestions above the word on screen aswell as above the keyboard when selecting/highlighting a wrongly spelt word? an off switch/one or the other would look tidier?

if you have swiftkey enabled from another app then go into compose mail, no keyboard shows up. you have to go back to notepad, change keyboard then go basck to mail.

this is really poorly done. thanks apple!

You can try restoring the phone as new without installing any apps, and see how it does for a day or so. If no reboots, install an app at a time for a day or so, and see how it does. Or, if you can find a diagnostic program that can extrapolate the log file and can post here, that might help to narrow down if it is the phone itself, a stock app, or a third party app causing the problem.

There is a thread on here about several people with iPads having the same blue screen reboot problem. You may be suffering from the same thing.

I updated my 5S last night, and this morning while walking into work, Siri started automatically waiting for input. I'd stop it, and it would do it again, then it started automatically calling my most recently called contact.. I power cycled the phone and it seems okay for now..

So I asked Siri about my birthday (today) and she congratulated me on my 35th birthday!!! Wait... What?! I'm turning 34 not 35 Siri!!!

Last year Siri correctly calculated my age, so something is wrong now... Oh well, at least I know how to substract dates

Personal hotspot does not work.

I used to connect my WIFI iPad 4 outdoor to the Internet using my iPhone 5's hotspot. No issues with 7.1.2. With 8.0 I cannot connect. Network reset does not help.

I told her the other day "its my birthday today" she said "happy birthday" I just asked her what she knows about my birthday, she said she knew nothing, so I asked her "when is my birthday", she says she doesn't know. :D

Spotlight suggestions and bing web results don't get ticked in settings(if u Tock it and go back and come back , it'll be in ticked)

spotlight results don't work in safari

Photo search only searches months and favorites

Iphone 6 plus:

Camera on lock screen doesn't activate now and again. Phone reboots itself without the user knowing, the screen goes black and the buttons don't work for about 30 seconds (no apple logo though). Even though I haven't manually rebooted the phone now and again I can't purchase through the appstore using my touch id. It says I have to enter the password instead of touch id after a phone restart. But I haven't restarted my phone!

Also Swiftkey and Swype mess up the keyboards. If you set one to use, more often than not no keyboard appears at all, not even stock and it is tricky to get one back. Uninstalled them for now.

My iPhone 5s is randomly sending my calls straight to voice mail. Is this a phone issue or an iOS 8 issue. Went to tmobile. I have an apple appt this evening. Any ideas? Thank you!

Some of my artwork doesn't even show up, and I KNOW all my stuff is properly tagged. Wasn't an issue in iOS 7.

And they seem to remove your keyboard shortcuts, even when you are using the default Apple keyboard.

Why has predictive text just given up on my 5s? All i have now is just a flat white line on a grey background.

Toggling it on and off in the phone settings makes no difference.

RE: imessage

IMessage isn't working for me.
I spent an hour plus with apple tech support this morning when my imessage would not work on my MBP. And then stopped working on other devices. I guess it relates to something from the transition from .mac to .me to .icloud. The .me was causing the issue so i was told so they had to do a password reset then apple had to delete .me from ever existing and then have to reactivate the icloud. I also had to delete some settings in the keychain retaining to the icloud account. Once i did that and was re-prompted to sign back in under the new password everything started to work again. Apple had done a server migration and some accounts that were from the old paid accounts caused a issue with the migration and got corrupted.
Can u sign in via a Mac computer imessage? if u get a inactive indication that means there was an issue with account migration during the server update. Only way to fix is over the phone.

I think it depends on the app. Was just in YouTube and it worked. Could reply to a text just now like that.

You'd think it'd work from lock screen? Home screen? Can't believe nobody else has mentioned that this doesn't work at all. I pull down on notifications of a text and it never works

Not really a bug, just a glitch... When you have the display in ZOOM mode, and go to Settings->General->About, part of the serial number and other fields end with ellipses. This just came up when I was buying AppleCare+ at the Apple store. I had to change my display back to Normal (no big deal), but it would probably be better if the About screen provided two lines per element while in Zoom mode.

I have an intermittent issue with iMessage where it will take about 20 seconds on average (but as long as 5 minutes) to send messages. No pictures or videos, just text. The phone gets warm and battery usage increases while this is happening. This is on an iPhone 6. It does not happen on my iPhone 5s or iPad mini retina which are also running iOS8. I'm not sure if I should just return the phone or wait it out hoping that Apple will fix this bug as I haven't seen anyone else report this issue. I also have the overall poor battery life and wifi connectivity issues.

Installed SwiftKey keyboard. Deleted default keyboard. Only SwiftKey and emoji on the list. Every now and then, the default keyboard appears. I close the app, reopen, and swiftkey is back.
I dont know if it's a swiftkey issue or the API...

It works fine for most. Is this for iMessage/SMS? Do you have previews enabled?

One so far:

Entire screen shift to the bottom, leaving the top portion of the screen black and bottom half of the screen with display (calendar/iMessage/mail etc)
Is this on iPhone 6 or 6 Plus? If so, isn't that just the Reachablity feature?

I just confirmed a bug/"feature" - disappearing notifications. I posted earlier in the thread about notifications not appearing at all sometimes, despite having unread emails. Unlocking the phone seemed to cause them to reappear. However, just now, I was reviewing emails in the notification center and they suddenly disappeared. They reappeared when I unlocked the phone.

Maybe this is a security "feature" that causes notifications not to appear if you haven't used your phone in a bit...?

Apps should be forced to give a user more choice on sharing location data in privacy settings.

At the moment some apps only offer a choice of never or always

Always means they can acces in the background. They should be forced to include the option some apps use, and that is

while using

I'll tell them when they can use my location. When I'm using their app and only then. Thanks

For example - why does a camera app need to know my location in the background.
As I recall the apps would have to update to use that. Seems like something that's up to the developers.

Up until iOS 8 there wasn't even a distinction at all, it was either have the location service off for that app or have it on (meaning it can be used when the app is running and when it's allowed to in background).
