Another bug I noticed, When I start iTunes on my iMac, it does not always find my APPLE devices, even though I have "Sync with this iPhone over WI-FI" checked. Sometimes it finds the devices, sometimes it lists none. I updated my 5S and iPad rMini and have a 6 Plus. Had that issue when I first got my 5S, but later iOS updates fixed that. Apparently the bug is back in iOS 8. The only way to fix that, is connect device back to iMac via the lightning cable, uncheck wifi sync, close the itunes program, start it back up and check the box again.

Until now (Iphone 5s):

- E-mail: says I have new mail (for example 5), open e-mail: no new mail. Or the reverse happens. There is new e-mail but I get no notification (exchange).
- Wifi. Even most simple webpages cannot be opened after some time. Turning of Search Engine Suggestions, Spotlight Suggestions and Preload Top Hit helped a bit. Closing and opening Safari again helped more.
- Videos I open from e-mail or webpages cannot be 'stretched' if I turn my phone horizontal. Seems locked. Looks terrible.
- Some photos on webpages look terrible (' laughing mirror-effect' ).
- Steps+walking/running distance are being measured by Health, found nothing to turn this off. Should be off by default.
- Battery drain. Remains 100% for some hours and then in 30 minutes loses 10 till 30% for no apparent reason. On IOS7 i needed to charge every other day, now every night.

Looks like some testing and/or bug-fixing was not done to get IOS8 'released' 'on time'. Disappointing, for not a very large release.

delay and bug in Photos

Very annoying delay is now present in Photos app when tapping on a thumbnail of a photo. In large albums and large events it takes up to a second or more (the duration depends on number of the photos in the album) before the photo appears full screen. I see this issue occurs only in album/event view, not the all photos view.

Fast flipping through the photos in such large albums is also not smooth anymore, animations are jerky and skipping. This was fine in iOS7.

Also, when you tap on a photo in full scree mode which makes the top and bottom bar with tiny thumbnails visible - once you go to next photo the bar blinks.

Here my noticed bugs:

-WiFi sync is totally broken
-WiFi issues
-Handoff sometimes stops working, rebooting iPhone, iPad fixes
-iPad air animations is so struggling
-Can't attach photos to websites like macrumours, tinypic and etc.
-Safari share menu reordering doesn't work, order keep backing to default after quitting Safari.
-Safari keeps loosing internet connection while other apps works fine. Only quitting Safari fixes problem.
-iPad air. Opening events folder at photos app with gesture gives black screen and photos app freeze.

Wish atleast these bugs will be fixed in iOS 8.0.1

To OP, make WIKI thread because now everyone is reporting duplicated bugs.

Apps should be forced to give a user more choice on sharing location data in privacy settings.

At the moment some apps only offer a choice of never or always

Always means they can acces in the background. They should be forced to include the option some apps use, and that is

while using

I'll tell them when they can use my location. When I'm using their app and only then. Thanks

For example - why does a camera app need to know my location in the background.

There are some really nice features in ios8 but the bugs keep growing and really annoying.
Iphone 5 - phone won't switch off a lot of the times with the button on top of the phone.
- sluggish to finally auto switch off
- battery draining fast
- apps like flipboard shutting down when I open it
- I just had a fight with iOS 8 trying to get it to accept the word flip board. Kept changing it to clipboard then highlighted it to blue then pink and still would not accept it. Finally gave in as you see the second time I wrote it could only get it in 2 words.
- there's more and I haven't touched on iPad yet

Apologies if this has been posted already as haven't read all 13 pages of thread!

On my iPad 2 in iOS8, ALL of my bookmarks (which I have added to my homescreen) on my home screen are displaying like this:

[/IMG]

The bookmarks still work however, one thing is a little strange - the bookmarks which create a logo (like the Apple bookmark you can see), display correctly (as you can see by the Apple iOS8 bookmark and also 'The Next Web' bookmark icon), however, some of the other icons (I am presuming that these bookmarks do not create an icon but just create an image of the website itself), just do not display correctly?!

Can someone else try and create a bookmark on their iPad 2 and see if they get the same result?

iPhone 5. Lots of lag and stuttering.
Battery life is shocking. 65% when I went to bed last night, no usage until alarm went off at 6am and down to 10% battery.

Purchased music

Purchased music downloaded from the iTunes store on the new iPhone does not show up in the purchased list once downloaded in iOS8. It used to show up at the bottom of that purchased list. Now it is neither at the top nor the bottom, and not visible in that list (and the number of songs doesn't change so it doesn't seem to be there at all). It only shows up in that list once syncing with the mac.

Shown to an advisor. Said he would relay to the engineering team.

iPhone 5S

If I am in an app and I get a notification, the screen rotates to landscape, and wont change back to portrait unless app is quit from multitasking bar and I go back in.

iPhone 5S

If I am in an app and I get a notification, the screen rotates to landscape, and wont change back to portrait unless app is quit from multitasking bar and I go back in.

My 5S also getting stuck in Landscape.

Pulling down notifications to use as interactive notifications never works, do you get them OK, if you get a text for example?

This sounds as if an app keeps running in the background although you don't use it or allowed it to use it in the background.

Did you already check Battery usage to see which app you didn't use much (or not at all) causes a major use in battery. See also this article and this one on iMore.

I've seen others who had background process off for e.g. Google Hangout and Skype but still had major battery usage since iOS8.

Please look also into the apps who are allowed to use 'Background refresh' and 'Push Notifications'.

I've had similar issues with another Dutch app called Scoupy after 6>iOS7 upgrade. I deleted the app and it resolved the battery drain. The app released an update (months later) which resolved the drain finally. It was however very hard in the previous versions to find out the app which caused the drain. In iOS8 that is much easier now.

Anyone experienced issues with homebuton?
When I press it one timew, sometimes it behaves as doubleclick.
Never happened before.

About battery life, others are discussing, I have opposite experience, iOS8 actualy improved battery life. My iPhone 5 was disaster week ago, but now it's bearable. I have also hw battery issues, my battery is going to die soon, so even better improvement in iOS8 is huge..

Syncing iPhoto Events doesn't get put in chronological order even though your iPhoto is. The funny thing is that other apps see your Events in Chronological order (or whatever your have your iPhoto set to).

The Mailbox app seems to get the number of unread emails wrong. Seems to go away after opening and closing the app.

My 5S also getting stuck in Landscape.

Just tried that. No, pulling the notification down doesn't work. However I can tap it and it goes to the app with the notification

Reachability

iPhone 6

Reachability does not always work. I had to restart my phone to get it to start working again.
Also, Swiftkey keyboard is not 100% functional. Sometimes it doesn't let you "swipe".

The same on my iPhone 5.

One more thing (sic!): Sometimes clicking at links at MacRumors on Twitter redirects me not to the article, but... to the AppStore (?).

Lock screen notification action keyboard bug

On my iPhone 5, when trying to do an action to a notification (eg deleting an email) on the lock screen when the phone is locked, brings up the keyboard to enter the password, but often typing stuff just makes it bounce to the right. You can just about enter characters, but sometimes you can't type anything at all and have to power cycle. Doesn't always do this so I don't know if it only happens with a specific type of notification (eg email from an exchange account).

It's supposed to show as below, when you pull down the text notification as in this pic.

Doesn't work at all on 5S. Presume it works on the 6?

....looks like someone has already detailed this bug here (post #22 in this thread):

2. After you upgrade to iOS8 and power cycle the device, all webclip icons will be white with a black X in them. If you click on the webclips, the icons will fix themselves but for webclips that are managed via MDM you have to repush them when the device gets into this scenario. This has been tested on around 20 devices (5S,5C,4S) and they all experienced the same issue. This has been reported to Apple. In case you don't know, webclips are a application icon that opens a website. So if you go to a website and send it to your home screen.

AirPrint broken after iOS 8 Update

I was able to AirPrint to an 2 HPs and a Dell printer before the update. I can no longer print via AirPrint.

Anyone with WiFi issues;

I've had issues with Bluetooth and WiFi, and just disabled Bluetooth which seems to have (at least so far) cured my WiFi lags and connection issues.

Anyone else care to test?

This may be an issue with handoff/continuity? Or just Bluetooth?

Again, small sample size (one) and just for a couple of hours worth of testing, but I'd like to see other's results.
