Post iOS 8 bugs here ( updated )

Lost emails on my exchange account. Have to delete, hard reboot and re set up. Sigh Apple sigh!! Test your bloody software

HUGE issue with my Messages app. The OS doesn't seem to be able to load my Messages data correctly leading to hangups galore. Was attempting to use the app and it wouldn't open at all. Restarted, still wouldn't load. Turned off iMessage and relogged in after the iMessage pop up came up and all was well - until I tried to delete some threads to lessen the storage load. This seems to be the only app I'm having huge issues with (aside from the keyboard dictionary taking a turn for the worse too), and it's one of my most used apps, so it is imperative that this gets fixed.

First-gen Mini (8.1): touch has become really skittish. The native keyboard is barely usable. Scrolling is kind of hit-and-miss, in the Mercury Browser, it has been seeing phantom multi-touch gestures. Not a pleasant user experience yet, I shall hope 8.1.1 fixes some f this.

Has anyone experienced a bug where you cannot swipe up into the camera or swipe the control centre upwards from the lock screen? It's happened to me a couple of times recently and it's annoying me like you wouldn't believe.

Restarting the phone fixes it.

I used to have the same probleme with you. Only have to repair it.

With 8.1, I'm still getting issues with the status bar showing up in places where it shouldn't be, like in the Photos app.

The wallpaper I use must be confusing as well, because sometimes the status bar text doesn't revert back to black, after switching from a screen where it's supposed be white.

Anybody else noticing that although Bluetooth is turned on, the icon doesn't always show up in the menu bar? I didn't test if it's on or not though.

Does anyone else have issues with quick reply? I have iOS 8.1 running on my iPad and it works fine. But on my 6+ and my 5, the quick reply only works with banners and alerts, not from the Notification Center. When I swipe to reply, all I see is the X to delete the message and not the reply button but it's there on my iPad. Anyone else experiencing this?

The iOS 8.1 update turned on the DFU mode and did not install well the first time.

Then, after installing the 2nd time, globally it's the same as iOS 8, but sometimes it will hang for like 30 seconds. Yesterday, it hanged for about 2 minutes, until I shut it down and it took me 10 restarts until I realized I had to wait 10 minutes on the Apple logo and then it would go to the lock screen.

I can't say I've had many problems with iOS 8.0 itself, the only problem was that the keyboard would hang for a good 5 seconds sometimes.

So far, not so good... !

I have noticed since updating both my iPhone 6 & iPad Mini 2 to iOS 8.1, very graphic intensive websites are causing numerous safari reloads, crashes and even device resprings - I had an online chat yesterday with an AppleCare rep and her supervisor & they were able to replicate the issue on numerous devices running iOS 8.1 - I was told that they spotted an issue in my diagnostics, likely in WebKit since I have multiple crash logs for that. They were bringing it to engineers immediately and profusely thanked me for bringing it to their attention instead of just "living with the problem" - I wish Apple would see this as a prime example of why an iOS public beta would be a huge step in the right direction. OSX Yosemite has been so smooth on my MacBook Pro & I really believe its because of the public beta catching bugs that would normally go unnoticed.

Anyone else seeing this Safari bug and having issues?

I still have the issue in landscape mode where I cannot backspace to delete text. The cursor just moves over the text and it remains. This is with the current update on an iPhone 6. Happens in e-mail, notes, text, and Safari so far.

Cant say I do... oh I haven't upgraded yet :D really feel no great rush to being a beta tester for apple anymore.

In iOS 8.1, it seems iPad wallpapers are no longer automatically centered when setting them. Instead, they are shifted to the right. This is a bug that began sometime during iOS 7 (I think 7.1), was corrected in iOS 8, but is back in 8.1.

There seems to be a problem with Control Center on IOS8+ doing 'something' that interrupts WiFi for about 35 to 40 seconds at a time. The problem is most noticeable on iPhone 5/5S and iPad/iPad Mini, but still happens on the new iPhone 6/6 Plus devices.
Here's how to create the problem:

1. Run OOkla Speed Test to get a baseline performance level over WiFi.
2. Swipe up the Control Center, then slide it back down.
3. Run OOkla Speed Test again. Your results will be about half the speed, and you'll notice the speed needle is very jerky.

We noticed this because we are the developers of an app that does very low-latency audio over UDP networking. Normally, packets stream in to the phone at around 20ms intervals. When the Control Center is slid up then down, our app will receive packets in bursts every 400ms or so. This will continue for the next 35 to 40 seconds after the Control Center is slid back down.

On the iPhone 6/6 Plus, it appears the phone is capable of 'catching back up' on the SpeedTest, so you really don't notice the problem as much.

This is an absolute killer for low-latency audio applications such as VOIP.

Has anyone out there seen this? Can you re-create like we can?

Email, Safari, Speaker

Good news / Bad news

Good news - using my 6+ as a speaker phone, under 8.1 the rapid battery drain has become moderate. 3 hours of speakerphone at 75% volume used approximately 45% battery. Much better than the 70%+ on 8.0.2

Bad news - emails that have been read pop back into unread status during the first few minutes of reading email. After 2-3 minutes the app works correctly.

Bad news - Safari under 8.1 has significantly increased it's crash rate (app, not springboard or device) when opening a second tab to a site that is graphic intensive. Example: reading a few articles in Forbes, open a second tab to Verge. Crash. Have to close all tabs, kill in tasks then reopen.

Am receiving advertising SMS on my iPad from numbers already blocked on my iPhone, i have to block the same number on each and every device !!!

Considered bug ?!

Keyboard gets stuck and in the way while taking pictures in messaging app.

The stupid glitchy rotation animation in videos is still there.

Status bar gets overlayed in some area still.

Copy and paste bug. I will copy something, and it will paste something that isn't what I copied, but a copy I did earlier.

All on my 6+

Microphone button for dictation

This is annoying as if your phone is on silent its usually on silent for a reason. Accidentally knock the microphone key next to the space bar and you get an almighty loud bing bong sound coming from the phone. That should be silenced if the phone is on silent. Siri is turned off as I dont use it!

You can turn off dictation as well. Other than that, while dictation is active (or perhaps turn on Siri and then get it to come up) lower the volume then.

Recreated on iPad Mini2, running 8.1 over wifi, and that is one hellaciously ugly bug. Speed didn't just cut in half, it went from over 50 Mbps to FIVE. About a minute later, it was back above 50. Yeesh.

My current pet peeve: about half the time I enter a search in the Safari toolbar and hit return, it just sits there. No spinning icon in the status bar, no little blue progress bar, nothing whatsoever.
