Upgrading from an iPhone 11 to a Pro Max, I'm looking forward to the larger screen, OLED, ProMotion, camera enhancements and extra battery life.

From my perspective, the only iPhones to buy are the 11 or the 13.
11: best iPhone on a budget. Finally $500 iPhone that gives you dual camera, night mode, and great battery life.
13: the 128GB base storage is the best deal imo. The mini is also more attractive due to the improved battery life. and they all have the same camera sensor that was exclusive to the 12 Pro Max. Quite a deal if you tell me.

The poor buys:
SE: poor battery life, and 11 is just $100 more for a modern design and much better battery life. Only get if TouchID is a must.
12: for the same storage size, the 13 is just $50 more. Might as well get the 13. For the base model, $100 will get you the 13 and double the storage. Worst value of all.

My deep cherry and sequoia green leather cases just shipped!
LETS GOOOO!!!

Sticking with my red 256GB iPhone 11. With the phones being so good since the 8, 8 plus, X generation, im probably on a 3-4 year refresh cycle.

Think I’ll stick out my X for another year. Had planned on upgrading this year, but just seems like such a minor upgrade over last year. Funnily enough, if the 12 had 120Hz last year I would’ve upgraded but just don’t feel the 13 this year. Based on the thread, the quick charger or MagSafe changing must be doing a number on the battery. My launch day X is sitting at 84% after almost 4 years and I wouldn’t say I’m a light user either.
Wow my 12 Pro is at 85% after ONE year…SMH. This battery is trash. Going to get the regular 13. The pros (Non-Max) have too many battery killing features.

Definitely going to upgrade 12PM to 13PM. The better camera and video plus battery life makes it a no brainer for me. Plus, the trade-in with carrier credits for a last-years phone seals the deal.

ABSOLUTELY!!! 😁 got rid of my 12 pro max for $1100, better than keeping it for another year and losing another $300 on it, SIENNA BLUE PRO MAX LETS GOOOOOOO!!! 💙💙💙

People are in for a rude awakening with the 120hrz battery life. Apple is quoting battery life with

exactly. Most dont realize the pro models have a inferior metal to the regular models. Stainless Steel is cheap. 316 or not. 7700 series aluminum cost 3 times as much per pound. Used by nasa to build space craft and has similar properties to titanium. Apples marketing team is one of the best. The 13 actually is physically the more premium device as far as materials are concerned. Those margins on the pro models are high.

But its sUrGIcaL gRaDe stainless steel!!!

Looks like either hubby or I will pass down a 12 to our son and one of us will upgrade to a 13. Only doing it this year because they are willing to give me $350 trade in for the 7+ and we want to get something for it before it is a paperweight. The 7+ still works but the battery life is terrible. After 5 years of daily use, it is time to replace it.

We have another public holiday on iPhone launch day for the second year in a row🤦‍♂️😡 Stuff this I’m breaking this 5km lockdown rule and picking up my phone from the apple store, store front pickup. 🤦‍♂️

I will go for the 13mini in black 128GB after sticking to a compact android phone for 3+ years. I wished Apple would have kept the blue color from the iPhone 12, because it looks much better than the blue from the 13mini. That's why I will go for the black one. And what I also don't like is the missing telephoto lens on the 13mini. It would have been much better if Apple would get rid of one of the wide lenses and replace that with a telephotolens, especially in combination with the new film functions.

Giving my 12 Pro Max to my kid as her XR is getting up there and Verizon will give me $699 for it if I upgrade to an iPhone 13. $99 to upgrade from a XR to a 13 is a no brained. I figured next year the XR won’t be worth anything as an upgrade, like the 8 is this year.

Trying to convince myself to stay with my 11. I keep asking myself "Do I really need to upgrade?"
Unsure how ill go with the OLED screen of the 13 series and plus my wife would probably kill me.
Apple has a 14 days return policy, no questions asked. The ultimate,, best smartphone on the planet awaits 😊😁👇

what the wife doesn’t know won’t hurt her, tell her you won it in a raffle 😎

Going from the iPhone 12 Pro to the iPhone mini 13. Mainly because I do like the smaller form factor and I'm not going to be able to enjoy an upgrade to an additional mini model after this iPhone.

Still struggling with this. But just because it's my nature to wrestle with the question, rather than a need to figure it out RIGHT NOW...I don't expect to upgrade tomorrow. But I do expect to do so in the next few months.

Anyway, right off the bat, my inclination is to get the 13 mini. The only reason I am considering the 13 Pro is for the telephoto lens. I'd say on my DSLR I'm shooting through my zoom lens about 90 percent of the time. I would love to get that telephoto on my phone. But that means I'm spending to get a lot more things that (though I'm sure I would like) I don't feel the need to spend for.

But then as I was reading about it, I came to the understanding that the telephoto lens is not a zoom lens, it's a fixed-focal-length lens. So that means, if the telephoto is 3x, then you're getting purely optical zoom at 3x. But if you choose to shoot at 2.5x, then you are using digital zoom (in this case, zooming out instead of zooming in, I think). If I'm to make use of the telephoto, and if I am trying to avoid digital zoom, I'll have to be OK with exactly 3x.

At that point, it can make some sense to try to find a 12 pro instead of a 13: A 2x might be more versatile than a 3x. But then I give up the couple other features I liked from yesterday: the cinema mode and the better battery. I could get both of those if I simply get the 13 or 13 mini. So...

--Just telephoto lens? 12 Pro
--Better battery and cinema mode, punt on the telephoto? 13 mini
--Better battery and cinema mode, and telephoto, but most expensive (and bulkiest)? 13 Pro.

No doubt I'll be sitting with this for some time, lol.

Help: is the Apple leather case wisteria blur or purple (disclaimer: I am color blind and different people have given me different answers)?

Looks purple/lavender to me not blue.

*BTW is the 13 "Midnight" Black or super dark blue? Think its Black but this question made me doubt it/
