In the wild on my kitchen table! :p

FYI, I originally got the space gray but after 10 days I didn't like the color as much as the classic silver. The silver is perhaps more boring but looks very classy.

I've ordered gold but I don't think the silver is boring at all. I've always loved the look of my (silver) unibody MacBook and when I saw the silver in store I agree it looks classy. Classy and kinda cute - a scaled down version of its predecessors! Am actually slightly unsure about my choice of gold but am sure I'll love it when it (finally) arrives!

First Blu-Ray disc burning with my rMB. Took 10-15% of battery to complete.

Also question about the webcam sticker - why is it there? Is it to block the ambient light sensor from automatically changing the brightness of the screen?

- It's for paranoid people who believe the NSA and others don't have anything better to do with their time than spy on the average laptop user.
I'm seeing more and more people with stickers or a piece of duct tape over their webcams like that. Completely ridiculous practice if you ask me.

Ha ha ha, I actually was going to ask if that was what it was for, but I wanted to believe their was actually a technical reason for it that eased daily usage...silly me!:p

Actually read up on this a bit...it does seem like it is possible, but one of those things where you almost have to have installed unsigned software yourself on the device or someone else did so having physical access to the device, or you unwittingly gave someone remote access by clicking on something shady, etc.

Can't imagine going around with a bit of tape on my iPhone or iPad especially, seems a bit like it is almost more about making an anti-establishment statement than anything else...

In addition to my last post on my thread, I'll upload here the other pics of my new golden MacBook!!

I'm in love with it!!!

- Fine by me. At the moment, all they'd see is a whole lot of black since I'm using my MBP in clamshell mode. ;)

- If it were to prevent the ambient light sensor from changing brightness, a much easier solution would be to just disable it in System Preferences. :)

True enough, you've got me there! Is there an option to disable the Camera as well? No need to stick aomething on there? Maybe could use Apple Scrift to create a keyboard shortcut for that?

- Even if there is, I'm quite sure it wouldn't be enough to put the paranoid tape people at ease. "But they could just hack in and enable it again," they'd say...

i'm kinda weirded out people are irritated by my decision to block the isight cam. you not blocking your camera doesn't affect me in any way, shape, or form.

its 480p. i never use it. i don't like the nsa, even if i'm a law abiding average joe.

would rather not have the world's largest data center of ____pics have mine too. more than they probably already do.

wouldn't put it past certain websites with random ads. nor an entity run by people who have no regard for privacy as long as its not theirs up for grabs. this is actually one of the things i'm really proud about apple for, they seemingly try their best to not sell off customer info or eradicate privacy.

my iDevices I don't have iSight shut down though. once every blue moon i do use it on there. and in the lunar eclipse occasion i need to on my mac, i can remove and reapply the thing. And I have a kinect in my living room.

is that enough hypocrisy for you?

I was under the impression the power to the webcam also powers the webcam light. At least, I would be very surprised if this wasn't the case.
