its amazing how so many people drank the apple retina kool aid. i have a new 2014 mba 11 and the screen, and the whole computer, is wonderful. light, powerful. cool. before the mbr, everyone with an 11 mba said the same. kool aid.

LOL, you're on crack if you look at the MBA 11" screen and don't notice it's DRAMATICALLY sub-par compared to the 2015 Macbook screen.

Heck the 11" Air's screen is so horrid, it looks bad even next to other non-retina screens. People have been saying it for years.

But justify your inability to purchase the new laptop however you want.

It's widely considered the best display on any Macbook, including the Pros, so if you think there's no difference then I don't think you're very credible. There are parts of the device that aren't a substantial upgrade, display isn't one of them.

He's going to every thread bantering on about the "retina kool-aid." Either he has never used a retina display or he has something wrong with his eyes. I have both a non-retina and retina and there is clearly a difference.

Are those wireless studio's. My favorite. Mine are darker in color but my studio wireless headphone are the best I have ever owned. The battery just goes and goes!

Nice image, enjoy!

Yes they are the Wireless Studios, you are right the battery is impressive and they truly have tuned the sound quality since the originals.

My 1.3Ghz 512GB rMB paired up with 1440p Dell U2515H screen:

Does the USB hub work well on the U2515H? I've just bought one for exactly the same set up as you. Expecting to use the hub to connect USB speakers and hard drive to, so when I'm at my desk I just plug into the monitor and I've basically got a desktop setup.

I'm upgrading to the 512/1.3 as my main machine from a 2009 MBP and 2010 iMac. Both have gone already.

Can't wait!

- I have one as well, and yes, it works perfectly fine.
Just be aware of one thing: The hub doesn't work when the monitor is switched off, which is understandable enough, but it just means you can't turn off the monitor while having hard drives and other peripherals connected to it, or you'll get the "this disk wasn't ejected properly" warning (in the case of hard drives).

For my usage, which includes having my MBP stationary on my desk in clamshell mode and a Time Machine drive connected via one of the monitor's USB ports, I need to leave the monitor turned on overnight when I sleep my MBP, or the drive will eject improperly.

Of course, one could just eject the drives beforehand, but that's cumbersome to me. And the monitor uses hardly any power at all in its power saving mode, so it's not the biggest deal.

People still actually turn off their monitors??

Silver on the loose

In the wild on my kitchen table! :p

FYI, I originally got the space gray but after 10 days I didn't like the color as much as the classic silver. The silver is perhaps more boring but looks very classy.

I think you are using the term "kool aid" wrong?

People liked the 11" Air because it was small, light, powerful, cool, etc. Because it is.

Now some people also like the 12" MacBook for the same reasons, plus some new ones, such as retina display. Because these reasons are valid as well.

Not really a "kool aid" kind of issue (i.e. delusional fanaticism). Just honest opinions.

returned my gold, SG it is!

You abandoned us gold users! Shun the non-believer!

I'll take some photos when I get home. It's definitely going to take some getting used to the screen, especially coming from a 15 inch (and previously a 17).

Here is my Space Gray MacBook in the car last night.
