If you bothered to look at one, you would see that the build quality is awesome, the holes line up perfectly, and it is sleek and stylish.

I thought the entire thing would have been just silicone but I love how there is a glossy hard plastic that reinforces it along with the button extras.

The complaining about the price is so ridiculous. Yes, it's over-prices. But stroll through the apple store and see what cases are not. They are all around $30.

Bumpers look much better in person than in photos. I got a black one, and while they are expensive, they are top quality. The fit is excellent too.

Big difference is, those cases also protect the back of the previous iPhone. This new bumper case has no such protection.

I don't care if it works or not. The packaging cost just as much to make as the bumper. It looks ok the colors are girly well except for black. But no way is this thing worth 5 bucks and apple should be arrested for selling them for $29.00.

Hoping Seidio gets their Innocase for this thing out sooner rather than later. Don't don't if I can bring myself to spend $30 on a bumper.

You really think you're paying extra for the cost of the extra materials for the back of a case?

The bumper will not protect the phone, maybe if everything were flat. Pockets will scratch it, falling in the car etc.

Warning: Only the Apple sync cable will plug in through it, you cannot use any other car charger etc. Which is ok for me because I have so many of them and my car charger is a power plug with usb jack so I will plug in the Apple cable to that. The other word of warning is that only the Apple headphones will fit in the headphone jack, like the days of the original recessed headphone jack, because the cutout in the case isn't that large. So, my car audio cable won't snap all the way down. Good thing I think I have an original recessed iPhone headphone jack adapter at home somewhere I can use to circumvent this.

Not true. While it may impede some earphones, my Ultimate Ears fit just fine in the headphone jack with the bumper on.

It probably doesn't fit in the dock though and I like the plastic buttons on the bumper and the thinner form factor.

Sorry to disappoint but the iPhone 4 doesn't fit in the dock with the bumper on either.

I'll also chime in on the bumper. Yes, price is a bit high but after buying cases for all 4 iPhones now, you're pretty hard pressed to find any decent cases for less than $20. And as mentioned by a few others, it has a very good build quality and fits perfectly. Only downside as with so many other cases is the inability to use the dock when in place. Also, doesn't allow for use of either of my 3rd party fixed cable car chargers--plastic surrounding pin connector is too fat to fit in opening allocated (likely intentional as the Apple USB cable fits perfectly ).

those with the bumper cases, is it hard rubber material? nothing like the sticky silicone cases that attract pocket lint? is it easy to remove? i dont want a flappy rubber case like those i see on the blackberrys.

also, has anyone with the case notice any reception issues still?

Exactly my same questions.... anyone?

It's hard rubber on the part covering the steel antenna. The front and back of the bumper, which wrap around the sides of the iPhone, are slightly grippy and might attract pocket lint. The sides are good for giving the phone some grip, which should prevent the phone from sliding out of pockets accidentally.

It's easy enough to remove and put back on. However, there is a bit of slack when the bumper is on. I wish it were tighter on the phone. Hence I am planning to leave the bumper on, in case repeatedly removing it makes it looser over time.

I bought a bumper today with my iPhone 4 thinking I would need it for reception issues. Turns out my phone doesn't have the issue. I'm taking the bumper back tomorrow and buying a 2nd data cable instead. I love the look of the silver frame... no way I'm going to mask that up.

Here you go...the shinny part is a hard plastic; the rubber is soft and allows you to stretch it over the phone....also provides a little grip. I have to say....I like the case. It raises the phone off flat surfaces so it doesn't scratch, protects the sides and fits pretty tight.

Are Apple stores the only retail locations selling the bumper cases? Or are Best Buy, RadioShack, and/or AT&T also selling them at the moment?
