I'm having trouble getting the stand goal completed for some reason. It's what's keeping me from getting my first perfect day.

Actually the word you are looking for is obsessive.:D
Obsessive in fitness is an example of a great obsession. I've always been impressed with people who will workout no matter what. That leads to excellence in other parts of life.

Hey guys.

I've seen this thread and decided to ask here.

i'm not able to make the Stand goal. I have days when i'm walking all day or days when i work at the computer and get up to relax but the watch never register a stand. I got my watch one week ago and since then it didn't record 1 stand. It's always 0. And i never received an alert to get up and move ...

I'm doing something wrong or it's a hardware problem? :)

Thanks

Only thing that comes to mind is that I don't think standing counts if the watch is locked. So make sure wrist detection is turned on and that you unlock the watch when you put it on. Also, if you're wearing it really loose the sensor might think you've taken it off.

Hey. Thanks for replay.

I wear it tight so that's not an issue. But indeed i deactivated wrist detection because i if i leave it on i will not get message notifications on phone when it's locked and the watch on my hand. I will try to activate wrist detection and see if it's working :)

Edit: Yeah, that was it. I activated and now it's working. Anyone knows any other way to still receive notifications on phone when you wear the watch? Thanks.

If you act on a watch notification -- reply, dismiss, swipe away -- it's not going to show up on your phone.

Apple's "device cloud", if you can call it like an object, will try to notify you via the device you're using at the moment. If you're using your phone, whether checking email, typing a text, or playing a game, the phone becomes the top messaging priority; you'll see a notification on the phone before it appears on your watch, iPad, or laptop. And, if you're using one of the other devices instead, it should be the first to notify you.

This avoids the hassle of getting pinged multiple times -- on your watch, and your phone, and your tablet, and your computer -- from a single message.

I was texting with a friend who had just set up his new Watch and wondered why he wasn't getting my texts on it. I told him to set the phone down and wait while I sent another couple texts his way. The new messages popped up on his watch first, just like how I explained above.

Yeah, sometimes is indeed very annoying to have all devices ringing. I wanted to left only hepatic alert on my watch and that's why i wanted to get notifications on my phone all the time :)

Thanks.

Does the AW track your active minutes like the Fitbit or do I have to enter an exercise? So running around won't count unless I manually enter it?

You need to be standing and exaggerate the movements of swinging your arms at 50 minutes after the hour - so 7:50am, 8:50 am etc. You could be standing and swinging at 8:48 or at 8:55 and it won't register it. It is very rigid.

Walking to and from work counted as "exercise" for me as long as I kept a good pace.

The key function of using Workout mode is continuous HR data. Once you tap Start, it'll turn on the green LEDs. The rest of the day (or overnight) it'll just sample HR every ten minutes via the infrared LEDs.

What are thoese dots on the top right? I don't have these!
It will be (is) in 9.3. It seems to indicate a complete for Exercise for that day. It was the date number turning green in past Betas but has been changed to a small dot in Beta 5.

Good to know. Was thinking I had to enter things to get active mins.

I keep not getting credits for standing, it's very annoying! Sometimes I get the reminder and I stand up and walk around the office but end up getting the credit for the next hour. There have been a few days where I've been shorted several stand hours during times when I did stand.
[doublepost=1457155135][/doublepost]To supplement my previous comment, it's 12:15 am and I already have credit for 12 - 1 am. Both Tues and Thurs of this week I didn't complete my stand goal according to the app but I really should have.

FINALLY! FIANLLY! It happened! I finally got my perfect month award from November! First and only one. I'm willing to bet 9.3 beta 6 fixed it :)

The watch doesn't know that you've really stood up. It can't tell if you're on your feet or your butt. What it does is notice that the accelerometer hasn't seen much action in the last hour. Next time you get a notice, try waving your arms vigorously for 1 minute...stand and swing your watch from side to side...raise your hands in the air like you just don't care...just do it for 1 minute.

I really need to move more. I usually hit my stand goal but move and exercise not so much. The watch is motivating me somewhat so that's cool but it also can't make there be more hours in the day. LOL!
