Went for a 25 minute walk tonight, tracked in the Workout app, with my kids and it credited me 7 minutes of walking in the activity app. That's disappointing. We did only average about a 20/min mile, my kids are little, but still. It's walking. It should count for something.
Walking isn't a workout. That would contribute to your activity rings though.

Completed another month!!

Forget what other people say, waking is a workout and with kids is really a workout. If you don't start a workout for outdoor walk, the watch will use arm movement to gauge speed and if it isn't enough, it won't count.

If I walk by myself without the workout app, I get credit for every minute. If I walk with my wife, I get a few minutes of credit. If we hold hands with the hand that has the watch, I get even less. Just start a outdoor walk workout because it is a workout, just not enough to count/register.

If I work on my yard and haul dirt and bags of mulch, I sometimes get about 10 minutes of exercise minutes per half hour and calories far less than the effort I give. It should be smart enough I guess, but all devices have some limitation. Most will give me hours of working out when I ride my riding lawnmower or take my boat out on the lake. :)

A little OT but here is my Peachtree 10K Road Race results from today. Out of 13 it looks like my 2ed slowest (I had a knee injury 4 years ago). It was VERY humid, hot and windy (excuses, excuses ,excuses :D). My official time was 49:45 and I started my :apple:Watch several seconds before crossing the starting line. I stayed right most of the time and that added a little to my distance.

^Just under a 5min/km pace is impressive with those conditions!
To qualify for A next year I will still have to run a 10K race in under 45:24 (or 5K/21:53 under) provided they don't tighten the standards like they have the last 3 years.

Good run! I haven't tried using the default activity app for runs. I should check it out to see what it does and doesn't do. I've been flip flopping around between Runkeeper and Runtastic.

You can use the Workout app on your :apple:Watch and run Runkeeper or Runtastic on your iPhone. I run Nike+ on my iPhone too. So I have 3 recordings of each run. I also upload to Runkeeper, Strava and Digifit.o_Oo_O

That's pretty fast. My best 3-mile so far was around 21:30. I wanted to die.

Pretty good day yesterday. Early morning bike, most of the day prepping and painting a few rooms, busy/late evening out at a soccer game. I think it's just the 2nd time I've hit 20 standing hours.

I thought I would share my regular saturday morning bike ride:

At the end of the day, my total energy used was 18,726 Kj (or over 2 days worth).

I think it's only the 2nd or 3rd time filling the whole month.

Used the watch throughout an entire triathlon yesterday:
Good job and off to a great start for this month. I have always wished to do a tri. Weird but after I run about 10 miles I have had enough and just don't seem to have the mental stamana to keep going. Also I'm a poor swimmer and a below average biker. I actually don't care much for biking but I may be coming down with planter fasciitis (2ed time) and may be 'forced' to ride. I did a 25 mile ride Saturday as a 'test' and it was hard.

Thanks! Well, the good thing is you finish with the run when doing a tri. It's a cool feeling to mix up the 3 sports in an event, compared to say a half or full marathon. For swimming or cycling - if you keep practicing it'll get easier. That plantar fasciitis isn't fun. I've had it once, years ago. I know that pain - hopefully it improves soon! I actually woke up with a painful groin injury the morning after the tri. Busy day of commuting for a few work project, and the pain when I walked, I had a brutal day where I barely filled in my rings :(

Once over 30 or so if you wake up and don't feel at least a little soothing sore you will know your are dead.:D

Had planter fasciitis about 4 to 5 years ago (other foot) and it was chronic. Hope I got to it early this time and can proactively treat it. Luckily I'm a very tough wimp.

You are my hero. You also make me feel incredibly lazy even though we may be close to the same age. I workout 5 times a week and still feel horrible compared to you. :)
