I personally hate MacBook Pro batteries, or else I just have bad luck when I keep getting them. I seem to be buying a new battery every year.

I think its bad luck for you tag.... I have almost 1/3rd more cycles than you do and mine is still at 100%....

I haven't got a clue how I am on 282 cycles with my battery only being 4 month old.

I didn't think I used my Macbook Pro that much I do a lot of encoding video and I just charge the battery when it gets down to 20% left but 282 cycles is quite a lot lol

Yeah, I've got up to 9 in just over a week. I wonder how? It was at 8 earlier, plugged in, and has gone up to 9 now as I'm on the battery and it's run down to 73%.

What actually constitutes a cycle?

A cycle is every full recharge, not necessarily in one go. May be charging up to 50% twice, to 25% four times, and so on. ;)

93% should i return the 13?

eh I wouldn't really worry. My girlfriends 2 week old MacBook is at 98% and I nor her are really worried at all.

I doubt apple will take the test of coconutbattery as perfect. I don't think apple will do anything till the battery is below a certain %, and I KNOW that your not there yet .

I just wanted to say that my 2010 Core i7 MacBook Pro is returning really awesome battery life. I'm very happy with it. After years of PowerBooks and MacBook Pros, this is one of the best.

I use it heavily every day and while I will not quote exact run times, for the obvious reasons (too many variables in how one uses their laptop.)

I just wanted to check in for those who might be considering one and say that Apple has done a great job on this years models.

89%. Can't be bother to make a screenshot of my iStat Pro window :D

MacBook Pro 5,1 here.
Never calibrated the battery... probably should :p

My battery was recently replaced due to swelling.

I wish people would post what macbook they have (quite a few left that out).

Mine's a 2010 13" MBP, about 5 months old (least the battery is).

92% health
13 cycles
Current Capacity: 5359
Original Capacity: 5770 (I noticed some one else with the same MBP had a battery that had 5785).

Anyways, seems a trend (From what I can tell) for the 2010 13" MBP's to be in their low 90's (Where as my original Macbook, mid 2007 model last I checked has 97% battery health. And I noticed some one else with same age mac also had a pretty high battery health, higher than my MBP. They claim these batteries last longer but they seem to lose a lot of initial charge right from the start judging from this thread).

Oh, and for both computers I do leave it plugged in most the time (maybe once or twice a week they get discharged. The other one to 35% but because of longer battery health this one usually to 65% or 55%. Most of hte time I use it like a desktop).

2009 MBP battery still good: early MBA - so so.

Mid 2009 2.53 13" MBP - 310 cycles - 99% health advised by iStat Pro. I recalibrate about once every three months. I run mostly on battery and leave on charge overnight pretty much every night.

Early dual 1.8 MBA not as happy with 312 cycles - 87% health. Will probably go for new battery in a year or so.
