Chilaquiles for breakfast. Needed a little something, but not bad for a work day morning.

I start my breakfast with a shot of vinegar, followed by a savory dish.

- Veggie starter
- Oatmeal with nuts, raisins, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, linseed and chia seed, protein powder
- 2 slices of Granny Smith, blueberries

Cup of herbal tea.

oh gawd, I go crazy for wontons 🤪 pan fried or steamed.
As do I.

.. a recent squid dinner -- wild caught squid, purchased whole and frozen -- thawed, cleaned, and pan-fried briefly in rather hot pan, with only a splash of oil and beer -- served on uncooked yue choy leaves, with vermicelli rice noodles -- very happy with the result, squid was tender and flavourful.

Looks absolutely mouth-watering.

I love squid.

There is an amazing dish to be found in the Balkans - the former Yugoslavia, to be precise, (I have had it in Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia...) where grilled squid - served with minced garlic in olive oil, is served with potatoes, spinach (or chard); it is a dish I cannot recommend highly enough, and is utterly divine and absolutely delicious.

I am sorry to torture you my friend. My only regret for this meal is that I didn't take any pics of my wife making them. It is quite a sight to see her load the wrapper's and fold them into the edible works of art you see on the plates. And yes, they are good as steamed poppers, in a soup, or pan fried.

Garfield loves them....

Do you guys have a restaurant?
I have thought about it, but no, I just love to cook...and my family loves to eat. And oh yeah, we watch lots of food shows. Our favorites are travel food shows like Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, and Somebody Feed Phil. Always liked Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives also.

I've always said that if you like to eat, you better know how to cook...or have a lot of money to eat out.

If you're ever in the Raleigh, NC area, you have an open invitation to dinner at my house.😊

Made from scratch chicken soup for me yesterday -- stock was previously made and frozen - used lots of roasted chicken bones in its preparation, along with a considerable amount of chicken meat left on the bones, some veggie stems & ends, and a few condiments - first taste since it was put away to freeze, it turned out nicely flavourful -- additions to the stock for soup included: dried bean curd, kernel corn (from previously frozen corn from a fresh cob), and steamed rice and a small amount of drumstick chicken from a recent meal. Tasty, and comforting for the chilly weather on the go at this time. A serving.

My 10 year old son and I think we invented a new taco. We call it QuesoPavo, like QuesoBirria but with turkey simmered in tomatillo salsa. I found some turkey I roasted in November in the freezer, this was the result.
