For me, it was Preview rotating it wrong when I saved it to a size that MR would take (under 1.41MB for JPEG). I had to uncheck keep original rotation or something to that effect to get it to keep the vertical rotation. It must be a bug in Preview as the orientation is accurate on my iPhone where I took it.

Hmm, how did you transfer it to your mac? I photostreamed it into aperture from my iPhone. Which btw is awesome, i used to have to email pics to myself.

EDIT: whoops just got it lol. Umm I took a picture with my cell phone and it seemed to turn sideways and I don't know how to change it to upright.

Was it on an iPhone? Mac or PC?

Droid X. and a Mac

Hmm no photostream for you! :D Can you just flip it in Preview and save it?

----------

I haven't updated iPhoto yet so I can't take advantage of Photostream. Lol.

It's soooo convenient. One of my favorite parts of iCloud. They just need to update it so you can remove individual photos from the stream without having to reset the whole thing. So annoying.

Scarf weather for Christmas? What upside-down hemisphere are you from?! :p

There is snow in Milford Sound in the summer time :p I was there on a glacier in sandals during summer. Thankfully I had a pair of socks on (since I had very bad blisters from my sandals) or it would have really been bad!

I'd take the helicopter tour up there and have Christmas in the snow ;)

*(FYI my feet aren't really weird and small, this was shot with a 16mm lens so there was plenty of distortion).

Fake trees are the bomb... So simple.

And I have allergies, so I don't know how I'd handle a real tree

Ewww socks and sandals? Someone call the fashion police! :D:D:D

Lmao! I know! I was really self conscious too about doing it but then I realized that I was a foreigner so I was allowed to be "unique" :p

In addition to the horrid blisters, the day before I got off of a boat about 8 hours from my car on the Abel Tasman track and just as I stepped onto land a yellow jacket stung me repeatedly on the bottom of my foot (somehow it got between my foot and my sandal). Talk about a PAINFUL hike through the rainforest back to my car. (Thats how I got the blisters was that hike!)

Oh, and I had about 75 pounds of camera gear on my back as well 0_0;

Ouch! I would be miserable. Regardless, socks and sandals are an international abomination. No excuses! Now send a written apology to the people of New Zealand.

Hopefully New Zealand will have me back after that atrocity ;)

You might have to sign a peace treaty with them for that to happen, they might consider it an act of war. If WW3 breaks out, just know it all started because of your poor choice of footwear. I hope you're proud of yourself!

You do seem to be suitably penitent as far as I am concerned, but Nermal and MorphingDragon may have other ideas. I actually lived at Milford and at Franz Josef for a few seasons and it such wonderful scenic countryside, so easy to love.
KGB:)

Tourists...

:p
Trust me not to read the last post or two. Tourists when they are down at the Westland - Fiordland they get called Loopies. Something to do with Christchurch - Queenstown - Milford etc - The Tourist Loop.
KGB;)

Oh I was definitely a loopy! I flew from my work place in the middle east, to Dubai, to Singapore, to Christchurch ;) Then from there I went to Nelson to the Abel Tasman track, then flew to Queenstown, then to Te Anau (*spelling), then to Milford so I hit them all :p

I then went to Rotorua and then to White Island then back to Christchurch, then Singapore, then Dubai, then back to my workplace :/

It was quite the long trip in and out of New Zealand ;)

Jeez, a bunch of christmas tree haters on this site. How late do we all put our trees up?
