Agreed. I want to know this too.
Also, how do we know if our status has changed to shipping? Do we get an email or do we need to constantly check the order status ourselves?
I've been checking maniacally for days now and my card was charged yesterday afternoon. I checked my status right after that and it said "preparing for shipping". About 6 hours later, I got a text (and an email) saying it had shipped.
I didn't get any notice that it was "preparing for shipping" or that my card had been charged.
In my case the charge was 'pending' for a week, during which time the order remained at 'processing'. The pending charge then disappeared completely having expired, but the next day the shipment changed to 'preparing for shipment' and then 'dispatched' a few hours later. The charge on my credit card account only re-appeared after shipment.
They do send an email notifying you of dispatch but this is not always very prompt so I would keep checking if you are keen to know.
Hours. My card charged last night around midnight and then I woke up to "shipped". I ordered on April 12th sometime in the late afternoon. I got the 1.3Ghz/512GB/Traditional Silver and it should be here 05/18. One entire day before the estimate.
Which pisses me off because people who ordered on the 17th already have theirs. Thanks Apple. Oh well. I got sick of not having a laptop and purchased an Air at the store to use for two weeks while mine arrived. Back to the store it goes!
My card has been charged for a week. This morning (about 10hrs ago) changed to 'preparing for shipment' and it's still there. Probably changed just as the Chineese clocked off - when I wake they will have shipped - I hope!!!
It's sooooo sloow
I have this image in my mind of a cargo-ship full of Macbooks powering its way through the ocean.
One time, I and a bunch of other car enthusiasts had all ordered a special new car from Japan. The cars were found to all be on a certain ship and some of the other members had even found a way to track the ship as it came to port here in the USA.
I wonder when mine will board its ship...

Basically every time they do a major product launch (new iphone), air freight costs out of china shoots up.
Nice. Has it cleared or its it pending? It seems some have had it pending for a week, so it should only be a few more days for you, if even that long. Fingers crossed
yeah .. pending still! I actually ordered it while on vacation in Europe and it tripped off my bank's fraud detection (which I am thankful for despite the inconvenience) .. but I told them it was all good, and the transaction is still there pending.

Ordered mine April 12th. 1.3/256/SG to California. Got my shipping confirmation Monday and it's here at my work (waiting for the shipping guys to bring it to me) already!
Had standard shipping.... I'm giddy with excitement which will soon be crushed when I realize that the reason I go this machine is to write my grants and that I have to start plugging away at these soon.

Same config, also shipping to CA. Ordered the on 11th as mentioned in a previous post. It's out for shipment right now; which is cool, except I'm in London. I wasn't expecting it until next week. It'll be nice to come home and have it waiting.
Ordered 1.3Ghz/512GB/Gold from a reseller (no tax) on April 21. Just got tracking details so I should receive it at least a couple weeks earlier than I'd expected.
Had thought ordering through a reseller would take longer, but seems this was a good move. I can't wait to join the club!!

Charged but not shipped
I got charged on Monday morning and yet my 1.3 space gray still hasn't shipped or moved out of the processing order phase. Has this happen to anyone else? I'm kind of surprised it's been two days since my card was charged and still no change.
