Okay - first a warning. I don't have a camera, so am using a Nokia mobile phone. These pictures are horrible and don't show the case to its best.

Thanks for the images !

One possibly silly question - if you put the MBA into the case without using the extra compartement, would there be an issue with the zippers scratching the MBA ?

I don't think so - the folds of the case would probably keep the inside of the zippers out of the way, although without sliding the Macbook into its pocket, the laptop would move around when you carried it. Fortunately the pocket is tight but not ridiculously tight, so even if you had to grab your Macbook and case and just run somewhere, it only takes two seconds to slide the Macbook into place.

I just went on their website and they didn't have one, unless i wasn't looking hard enough. Can you post the link?

EDIT: Just found it...Nevermind. It's just backordered and it won't ship until February so I will not be purchasing it.

Shame - it seems they have a real backlog of orders now.

I really like this case, but wished they'd make a 13" MacBook Air version:

Really nice case and perfect for the business traveller.

Funny picture with 20Deutsche Mark in with

I got this one, and it cost me a quite a bit (for a case/sleeve) including shipping. Personally I didn't like it. The pocket fit was too tight, making the sleeve cumbersome to use. Also what's the point with the extra space anyway. For such a tight fit, cramming iPods etc. in there could be bad for the MBA (bending the aluminum top). I'd rather have a simple sleeve with hard casing and soft interior, without any extra nonsense. Still can't find that unfortunately..

Without a quote or a pic.... no idea which case "this one" is.

I'm thinking he's talking about the Booq Viper case, which has a few photos in this thread already.

That said I also purchased this case in November and waited until 18 December for delivery.

It seems to be well made; however, I don't think I would want to put the power source and bulky items in the pockets provided. Yes, the pocket for the MBA is a tight fit; however, IMO that might be a good thing.

For right now, I have the Mac Super drive, Ethernet converter cable and Airplane power cable in the rear pocket, just as a test. (I doubt that I would haul the Super drive with me on trips.) I might take a magic mouse though and it's pretty bulky too.

It's also to bad that it didn't have handles on it or a shoulder strap.

I also have a case logic case with handles, that fits the MBA 11 very well, although it has no room for anything else in it. The padding on it is pretty thin and doesn't protect the MBA as well as the Booq does, if placed in a carry on with other stuff, (Also the material isn't waterproof). IMO great for carrying it around inside buildings or even out doors if you use a 2.5 Gallon zip lock bag. Another nice thing is that it can be used in the case too.

So, I may use both; however, for the Booq, I have also ordered a Israeli Paratrooper Shoulder Bag, Black, that I will use to carry it around with. Hopefully, it's outside pockets will hold the power sources and a few other items too.

However:

This case is excellent. It is the same hard ballistic nylon, or whatever they call it, that Hard Candy use for their hard cases. I have a Hard Candy bubble case for my iPad and the material is identical.

The Viper is very slim and the Macbook Air fits very tightly - the pocket is slightly elasticated to give a firm grip.

Because the case is thin, I'm not sure what would fit in the pockets on the opposite side of the shell - an iPhone or iPod, a notepad and pens probably. Possibly the power pack, although it would make a bump and press against the Macbook. I'm not sure if that is bad or not. However as this is a case, and not a bag, I guess most people would carry their power packs elsewhere anyway (and besides, a power plug, particularly a British one, is just too bulky to fit in here anyway).

The spine of case has a thick rubberised bumper which feels like it would give significant shock protection. The strength of the case, the padded interior and the raised ridges on the outside of the shell make me think that a Macbook could survive quite being dropped from normal carrying height in the case and would be fine, although obviously you'd try not to drop it again.

Mine is the 11.6" case.

Thanks for the photos. This case screams for a strap.

Thanks for the reviews, those are exactly the two cases I'm interested in.

Just bought the Case Logic, very nice considering the cost.

The dimensions are almost the same as the booq case, only a tad deeper, but the same thickness (meaning twice what's really needed ...).

The MBA 11 fits very well, with room for a little extra padding along the bottom, which I usually add to any sleeve or case.

How can I lug this around? I travel weekly and use my 11" Airport all the time. Currently my SleeveCase from WF (with a strap) that carries the laptop, charger, passport and other papers in such a small package.

Would buy this booq case in heartbeat if it had a strap. It's designed to carry everything (as shown in the picture), pretty much replacing a bag.

I travel often and I agree with you. It looks great but for those that travel this is not all that great. No straps for carrying purposes and no room for the charger and Airport for Wifi.. It is great if you want to put everything in one bad and throw in your carry on but not all that useful for those who need something to actually be able to carry their 13" MBA in.

I like the caselogic one. I have it in black. It's rally for Macbook 13. The Air will fit but will be little loose inside. I added 1/4" foam pad at the bottom side, my Air 13 it perfectly inside.

I use my sleeve that I got in 2008 with my old white MacBook.

I'm not as OCD as a lot of Mac users. It worries me not that there's a few inches of room each side, as long as it is protected from the harsh outside world.

Jolioriginals (my GF's company) makes the best!

I'm using mine for a couple of months now, and it still rocks a lot better than all the neoprene stuff I had a few years ago.

Saddleback Leather

I have a saddleback leather bag... it's freaking awesome. Great looking and such. Not sure about your bag and the MBA fit... I use an thin envelope like bag and put that into my saddleback.

anyone know anything about saddleback leather? I'm looking at the large chestnut satchel...according to the dimensions listed the 13" MBA should fit, but I'd like to hear what you think

http://www.saddlebackleather.com/ca.../products/2047-Leather-Satchel-Large-Chestnut

Not sure if you're still looking but the large satchel is perfect for the 10.6" MacBook Air, but it won't fit the 13" unless you were to put it in the main compartment at an angle. I would probably recommend getting a thin briefcase as that would probably fit a bit better.

I had the Booq Viper case as well, and cannot help but agree. Waste of money. It just doesn't really work for the computer. I just sent it back earlier this week.

I can't find it now but Carbon Fiber gear blog had this Carbon Fiber suitcase case that was extremely tactical looking. It was a hundred + though.
