$75 for two pieces of material with 1 stitch. Holy cow.
Good choice of words,..
It's Cow, real leather not plastic,.. and it's wool felt not synthetic felt.
I know it's a lot of money, but for a high quality leather case it's not that expensive.

there is prob close to 500% markup in that case,

haha, she'd wish :)

you should lookup prices for high quality leather and 100% woolfelt, than you'd see she doesn't make a lot, especially if you know that making one sleeve takes more than two hours. (it's a lot more than one stitch).

Hardcraft charges more for sleeves without this much leather.

And if you're not sure about the quality, check out the reviews :p

anyone else waiting for the speck cases? anyone know when they will be released?

Ordered this one last week, can't wait until it arrives... and it arrived today :D

I can understand $20, but $75?!?!?!?! WTF?

It looks more like 4 pieces of material to me, -two pieces of leather on top of two pieces of wool.

Of course real leather and wool are going to be more expensive than a manufactured piece of neoprene :) Plus, this is a handmade item, and when you factor in the labor it takes to do yourself verse sourcing large production quantities out to India or China, you'd realize that the creator of this is not getting rich off them ;)

You're getting an item constructed of finer materials and handmade. That being said, it still has to compete on price and functionality against everyone, -including sourced cuts of neoprene, and that's fine. I personally went with the handmade case by Pack & Smooch, not cheap at over $80, (just enjoyed the design a bit better, to each their own), but Jolie's case was my second choice. I liked the simple elegance of a wool lined leather sleeve, and I like how you can customize and choose your colors of leather & wool. For me personally, if I'm paying a premium to Apple in part because of their design, I'm going to spend a couple extra bucks to wrap my Air in the sleeve most to my liking aesthetically, -why skimp there?

Like I said, to each their own, but I don't believe that the price is inflated considering the labor costs and materials used, maybe not *competitive*, but certainly not inflated.

Best case I found for the 11inch was the Timbuk2 XS 'Quickie'. Originally for the iPad, but fits the Macbook Air very nicely.

Very minimalistic bag, two pockets up front perfect for carrying a few things like the chargers and cables, etc. Neat bubble style padding the inside. Has handles that can be used to carry or tucked away and used carried more like a sleeve. No shoulder strap (or even loops for).

Here it is on amazon, pics show shoulder strap - which do not exist on the XS model:

Jolioriginals (my GF's company) makes the best!

I'm using mine for a couple of months now, and it still rocks a lot better than all the neoprene stuff I had a few years ago.

Do they ship to Singapore? Or do they have a retailer out there?

Kinda pricey.. but I think well worth it if it's using the materials as advertised... I've seen crappy neoprin cases going for 50bux.. so 70 for cow hide and felt is good...

I like the WaterField sleeve for my MBA 13" Of course I only bought the sleeve because it is a great fit in the Cargo bag. I have the Pack and Smooch for taking the laptop solo with out a messenger bag.

My two piece clear lightweight clip on cover just arrived from HK, perfect fit, smooth as silk so still feels like the ali case, adds 200 grams but not really noticeable, and cost £8.50 including delivery.

If anybody would like pics then I can post up tomorrow.

Joli is excellent.

Bought an 11" sleeve and two iPhone pockets, top quality, top notch service, good people.

At the time they didn't make a sleeve for the 13" Air, anyone know if that's changed?

I' believe so, have a look on the new website, I can't remember what it is but a bit of googling might get you there, or facebook.

Leather, thin, zips ups, can store your power adapter and any documents.

I'm not a fan of sleeves or cases.

@Gemütlichkeit

I wouldn't let that zipper anywhere near my baby... by which I mean 13" MBA :) Aren't you afraid of scratching it?

This is the case I'm using now, well more of a protective sleeve when I'm not using my Air. It is the Thule 13" MacBook Air sleeve.
