Thanks to AbsenceOfTruth

Thanks for th profile, it made such difference I have never been ale to get my screens just the way I wanted to. But your profile hit it on the nail, perfect.

Just wanted to say thank you.

I used a Color Vision Spyder colorimeter

It worked fine. Setup my laptop and external LCD to the same colors and when comparing to other profiles I did with superCal and apple cal it worked way better.

Although I put the thing ever so gently on the laptop lcd. Wish the rubber gett things were a lil taller.

Just out of curiousity, what do you recommend using as a frame of reference to decide if the calibration is great or not? Is it best to just take a picture of a real life object, then compare how it looks on screen to how the object actually looks? Are there good test patterns to try?

Thanks.

I recently had my Samsung swapped out for an LG. I found the old default samsung profile...how ugly

I have the LG screen as well and I do believe this is the very best so far. Everyone should try it. :D

This is by far one of the best profiles I've came across here on the forums. Definitely put some life into this SR MBP with a glossy LG screen!

Thanks a ton!

I've checked a few of these profiles here, and they all look pretty bad on my matte screen (don't know the producer). But I've spent a bit of time calibrating my display and I must say, it looks absolutely gorgeous now. I shall share it with you all :p

Tried this, and I gotta say, it looks really good on my LG Glossy.

Here's Mine. Calibrated with a Pantone Huey on a 15.4" LG Matte Display. Set the brightness to full - 4 ticks.

Both this one you posted and another one I downloaded somewhere else (called "Color LCD-6500K") were made by people who like myself have an LG Matte display, and both were calibrated with hardware tools - and both strikes me as very red! Why? Every screen is different I've heard, but that different? Perhaps I've gotten to used with my own blueish screen...

Anyway, here's my own profile, made with Supercal:

Step one, I think, is to investigate the windows Color Control applet. It is a extra settings pane in Control Panel, released as a Powertoy to supplement the OS's lackluster color capacities.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

I think, but have not tried it, that it will then support the ICC color profiles people have been posting here.

Of course, if you have Photoshop (at least the old version I have), there is an Adobe Gamma pane that works well enough for my purposes as well.

Hope that helps.

The windows color control applet is perfect to calibrate monitors and printers using ICC/ICM color profiles. The problem is... It don't work with a MBP SR in windows!! I tried everything but no solution. In my other PC works perfectly, anybody knows any other software for windows WORKING on a MPB SR?

you know that color profiles aren't permament right? especially for laptop screens, you have to calibrate almost weekly. Leaving alone the fact that every lcd will react differently even if its the same model and make

i have to agree with you. that profile is very red.

I've tried all of the profiles in this thread; AbsenceOfTruth's profile is nearly perfect.

However, I think this one is definitely the best (very similar, but a dash of red tuned out -- LG matte).

BTW, cool tip: Go to a totally dark room, turn up the brightness your MBP, and look at your keyboard. It will now be easier to determine what kind of 'tint' the profile offers (for instance, my profile is slightly yellowish).

Nice...this one also looks good on an LG Glossy :)

thanks for the profile. I just tried it and it looks much better than the stock profile my MBP used.

I went digging through some old posts and found this one which I think looks awesome on my 15" Matte Penryn MBP. (9C81)

Anything for the Chi Mei 9C82.. AbsenceOfTruth's and mashoutposse's are great but is there anything calibrated for this Penryn screen?

I just wanted to report my opinion and the opinion of several others that have taken a look at my screen. I've tried a whole slew of profiles, including all of the ones on here.

I think the attached profile is by and far the best one on my Penryn Glossy Samsung MBP. Strangely, the others paled in comparison. There was no contest.

I found the profile in this thread and in several other threads on this forum.

I purchased my MBP on 3/1/08.

I like this one, although it's kind of dark?
