Doesn't make sense to release a whole range of products at the same time. Apple products as standalones are almost prohibitively expensive for a lot of their customers, yet they manage to go the extra mile to buy one at a time.

I for one would like to buy an iMac as well as update my 2009 macbook pro, but theres no way in hell I can buy both at the same time, and by the time I save for the macbook pro it will be time to wait for the 2013 refresh ...

Just makes no sense to me .... Maybe it's just me though

I think it is just you. Not many people are buying two new computers every year.

Just thought we should have a place to gather all the info on slipping iMac shipping dates. It might be tomorrow (1. may) or much later, but lets keep updating this thread when we notice changes:) But lets keep talk about specifications and anything else not related to shipping dates off this thread.

Updating from posts but only iMac:)

No changes i apple store - but notice the restocking date at resellers, it is now 8. juni for all models. Not a good sign for may release.:(

Thank for all the other inputs:)

A side note - there is no support or ivybridge in the newly released 10.7.4 according to a hackingtosch website. It will proberly be picked up by the major sites soon.

This doesn't necessarily mean anything. Apple has done "a" releases for new machines, so IvyBridge could be in 10.7.4a. Or it could be a very short cycle to 10.7.5.

No support for ivy !? Dang. This wait blows WWDC better be the latest we wait

Also US online Apple Store is still 2-4 on. BTO change ram to 16GB or change hdd at all.

I don't disagree, but it was just brought up in this and other threads, that the release might support ivy bridge, thats why i mentioned it as a side note. I didn't say it would prevent a near release of the iMac, which i hope happens as fast as possible like everyone else on this thread:)

Thanks for the info it counts:) But as stated in the thread i only post BTO from 27" with new CPU. It simply takes up to much time to check every option in every apple store. So i personally appriciate you posting the info:O)

oh sure no problem, i have time to check different BTO options/ nations. I see 2-4 still on max ram and any hdd/ssd change. your welcome
* i wasn't trying to contradict your finding since technically its accurate, but wanted to add to it so everyone doesn't get all bummed out more

Ok, so these resellers say that they will restock June 8th. Is it possible that they will get iMacs after the release? If apple is overstocked and they do release the iMac in may, would they send some overstock to other places to get rid of them? For resellers to sell at cheaper prices?

Just because a reseller is restocking doesnt mean it's directly from apple, need to remember that, it could be some other reseller or other company under the same umbrella that's evening out it's stock.

What I would really appreciate in the next gen 2012 Imac:

Ivy bridge ofc! Maybe an optional i7 3930k?
New GPU, hoping for a desktop gpu like the new gtx 670 2gb.
New 24" or 30" models perhaps
A more easy way to upgrade the ram and hdd/ssd
a complete redesign, more cinema display look-a-like
removal of the cd-player
And I wish every model would come standard with the same gpu.:)

There are already plenty of threads discussing this. This thread is only for information on shipping dates around the world.

Just had a quick scout around some websites of the larger 3rd party UK stockists, and here are my findings :

LOTS OF STOCK EVERYWHERE

Boooooooo :(

so what are you saying ? they are in stock everywhere....no need for screenshots unless you had some interesting findings...

Guys you can stop this .. it will not happen soon. There is no IvyBridge support in 10.7.4 ... we will not see any new Macs until mid/end June, at the earliest!

I refer you to post #203 on this thread and subsequent discussion of said interesting point...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

All big UK retailers showing high stock levels, nearly all iMacs back in store and warehouses.

I don't think we'll see anything before June now

I think we must resign ourselves to WWDC at the earliest now.

1 month exactly till our wondering ends

Bogus but i now agree. Want a comp now but no point to buy now. Hope its june. That would blow if nothing comes at wwdc. Still dont see why hardware would be delayed for ML. SL and Lion did not hold up releases. Only thing is retina. Maybe ML will come early. to wait till end of July would be terrible
Kinda ruins the point to have 2012 models only be valid for 5-6 months of the yr
US apple online store BTO is still 2-4 on RAM/ HDD changes. if release is a month away till wwdc. Last, why would Tim Cook say for 2012 were just getting started over the course of the year, if A) products come much later. B) theres a mac blitz at once

Any week now they can come out silently. I dont see a redesign, hense No rumors. Maybe bumed res but full retina is not coming yet i bet to 27" when ipad took how long after iphone. 11-15" makes most sense now.

Also, back to school promo begins in june i bet as usual. Why would new mac products be held until mid July + with a promotion. Waiting for ML is goofy, download it when it comes. But people go to shool early, internships, study abroad etc. so if you cant buy mac till late summer then A) another low qtr mac sales B) competition already claimed some customers with their machines C) school promo hit hard

June seems fine. July august nahh. Not likely. i think if we were seeing retina or major design change wee have rumors around. But only design changes seem to be for mbp and iphone , imac seems just fine. Part why we dont have rumors for low to moderate refresh next week- 6weeks

Also apple a month out wont let resellers be empty or close to it. A week yes or two but 4-5 weeks no. So third party stock shouldnt entice or dishearten us as much as other points

You know, everytime somebody mentions WWDC and new Hardware in the same sentence a kitten dies ...

iMacs have never been released at WWDC, but the Mac Pro was in 2009. If the iMac isn't released in May (or the specs are wonky) I might just wait until WWDC to see if they do release a Sandy Bridge-E Mac Pro at keynote.

Might. TAKE MY MONEY APPLE!
