I woke up this morning to this lockscreen. Simply beautiful.
See this is the thing... this interface (that dial screen, for example) can look so damn beautiful with certain wallpapers. Yet other wallpapers make everything look so tacky. :/
In Spotlight, if you don't have a photo for a contact it shows a little circle with their initials which I think looks quite nice!
Could you do me a favour and post how the same thing looks when the name is in a non-English character set? I have a lot of Japanese contacts so I'm intrigued to see how they deal with it, if at all.
You can copy and paste these names in:
First name: 一郎
Surname: 鈴木

Fixed that for you! There was also some black creeping in at the bottom, which I fixed but due to the irregular waves it doesn't hold up to close scrutiny. Should be fine for wallpaper purposes though!

It's funny that some people are saying they dislike iOS7 based on how it looks in some of the screen captures here. But is that more to do with the posters choice of background or the actual UI?
In iOS6, your phone can look shoddy with the wrong background, some of the backgrounds in the examples here are god awful and too busy, so the simple UI is never going to look right.
You can tell from the more natural, simpler shots the UI looks awesome!

You have to set it from Settings>wallpaper>panoramas or it won't work properly. A bug maybe?
Maybe because that's how the icon is designed?
