Getting solid results here in Phoenix, but check the top result on this list. Obviously an error but wouldn't this be crazy?

Fwiw, the low reading was from inside my office where I get terrible reception. On Tmobile I got no service or Edge, so 3.8 down is a triumph.

Wait till more customers start using bandwidth. That will drop in half.

James

If it drops by half and I average out at 30Mbps down, I'll still be doubling or tripling what most people are seeing on their respective carriers so no big deal.

What can anyone really use 30-60 Mbps down for on a cell phone? Not much is my guess.

If you are going to do a speed test, I'd use the Rootmetrics app. Doing so allows us (the user) to compare signal and data amongst the various carriers within a specific cell area.

That way, if you ever want to check out a specific area, you have data regarding each carriers actual performance.

I've been getting faster speeds lately, this one is from this morning. Been getting around mid to upper 40s, this is the fastest I've gotten. Did this test inside the gym, on my 4S it was close to impossible to get a signal in here.

Wow. That's awesome.

Average of 45Mbps down, 25Mbps up, average ping is 40-50ms. I'm in Sydney, Australia, running on the 1800MHz band. Best result was a 62Mbps down, 20Mbps up with 25ms ping. Wish I could get that again.

I live a few miles outside Pittsburgh and the speeds are TERRIBLE on Verizon. At home I get about 4-5 mbps, and while at work downtown I get less than 1 mbps on LTE.

Upload speeds are about a constant 10mbps though.

Does anyone in Pittsburgh have AT&T, how does it compare?

I made a thread warning people about this earlier today. Verizon's LTE is really messed up in Pittsburgh since they expanded it. This was my speed test:

0.51Mbps Down
0.68Mbps UP

I got that with 5 bars of LTE. Heck outside the city my speeds aren't really that good either but this is very bad. AT&T seems to be good. My buddy has it and got around 30Mbps. I think someone in Pittsburgh already posted their speed. You'll have to go through all the pages but it's there somewhere.

If you can, make a complaint with Verizon. I did already myself. Hopefully they'll fix it.

I'm going to run a bunch of test today and this weekend and post up the screenshots here.

I'm adding a thread I created in Verizon's forum for anyone that would like to contribute: https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/784767

I have unlimited data....I think the low results were bc ATT throttled me after I used 4 GB in a week...dunno

This has probably been posted already…….but keep in mind every time you check your speed you are using up your allotted monthly data.

If you only get 2GB a month (2,000 MB) and the average of say 10 test returns 50MB up and 20BM down (70 total) each time…..you just wasted 700 of 2000 MBs in a matter of a few minutes…
