Or OpenBSD if you want an up-to-date BSD.An that is over an hour and maybe a few minutes of your time that you will not recover, leaving you to recollect that Leopard is still available to shove a FreeBSD derivative back on there, with no issues..

Your bad? Someone recommends an OS to you, then you go on a tear about random things. On top of calling Americans uneducated heathens. You shouldn't try so hard to live up to your newbie title. My bad..

Nice...and a wonderful Klimt on the wallA little bit of old mixed with the new on the PB.
I have to ask, what's web browsing like on it? I've looked up that sort of thing a good deal, but everything I've read has made it seem like MorphOS is worse off in that department. I'd like to be wrong.Well.... I gave myself and a spare G4 mac mini an early xmas present. A MorphOS registration key. After a few days of searching, i found just enough software to fit most of my relatively basic needs. The mini got a good cleaning and a new old stock 40gb HD beforehand, so i'm not worried about it biting the dust anytime soon. The most impressive part (besides the speed) is the entire system, with me downloading and installing a good 20-ish programs, weighs in at a whopping 760mb. At $96.05 USD for the license key i hope i use this machine more than a few days.

A couple of years ago I forked out US$99 for an ArcaOS license even though I have no real use for OS/2, much less any software exclusive to it. It is still fun to play around with something I was deeply impressed with back in the mid-90s or so (like its DOS and Windows 3.1 VMs that ran in a window). I don't even ask myself whether it was worth that much. Probably not but... whatever. At $96.05 USD for the license key i hope i use this machine more than a few days.
Glad to see you back! Best of luck with the HDD and PRAM battery replacements.Decided to restart Limey (my lime DV iMac G3/400) after it sitting dormant for maybe 4 months.. Soon I'll get to replace the HDD and the PRAM battery. (G3s are a pain to tear down)
It's a bit of a messy setup right now due to space constraints.

Wow, you went deep there bud. Hopefully one day you'll find your way out of your conspiracy theory echo chamber and be able to see things with a different perspective.Yes openBSD is one of the best systems to actively support the line of NewWorld or old world nowadays Macs.
I did notice that when x86 was getting BSD it was version 6.6 whereas MacPPC was already in the lead with version 6.7 and all new MacOS now includes the excellent PF firewall by default.
It does kind of make you laugh that few people take the time to read between the lines... Like the news about the evil baseband processors being used to indiscriminately hack people's phones by an evil three letter agency.
Did anyone out there take the time to read there own internal free as in freedom of information document that the same group published under the title USCC CCID 6 Feb 2019.pdf ? If you had you would have read that the person or persons tracking all minutes of all presentations and memorandum was there own internal Secretariat!
So just so we all understand it, spying on you all with Socialism to protect you all from Socialism... As ludicrous as it sounds that's there mentality.
Nice 10 billion data centre they've got there, a gorgeous monument to Socialism!
Oh look NEW open source base bands for mobile phones OsmocomBB
Lol - Love how they crucify there own tech companies but don't go after the genuine criminal - Microsoft!
Oh an maybe that retail developer guy who built it.
No prize for guessing who!
Evil huawei next thing they'll all be screaming evil Apple! 😂
So what is Intel ME and AMD PSP oh another illegally closed source baseband processor included in your computer chips.. Just slander the Chinese and the Russians, no wonder the USA is the laughing stock of the open source world.
Contrary to what they seem to believe the Internet was not invented by America it was invented by Victor Glushkov and its called the interNYET!
Uneducated American Heathens!
Maybe they lack the education to understand that what is intended for common mans liberation from the evils of corporate capitalism is not intended for use in a massive illegal spying dragnet!
I love this! I wish I had the space in my house to dedicate a room to old macs. The only true collectable I have is a 2001 blue and white g3. I put two 120gb SSDS in there and loaded up os 9.2 on one of them with all my old classic software, then another with 10.4 Tiger on it with all the PPC stuff I saved over the years. My twin brother and i share an office so I am going to share both of our setups in this post. First I will share his desk and setup which has a much larger desk now (pics 1-3 and 10). 1st desk setup he has a 20'' imac g4 which was upgraded in June to have a solid state hard drive and 2GB of ram, 2nd his everyday computer a 2016 macbook pro 15" nothing to speak about here, and 3rd his powermac g4 mdd dual 1.25gz which is actually the first powermac we both had to share when we were younger but became his after we got more computers. Second desk setup(its actually on top of a bookcase that is lower) is My g4 cube and his Performa 580CD (pics 4-6) we don't use his performa much as it has a dead hard drive and we have yet to replace it with a new one. Third and lastly in this post is my desk setup (pics 7-9 more in next post) 1st is my imac 2017 which is my daily driver, 2nd is my 2013 13'' macbook pro that i got back in my senior year of high school. More continued in next post with my g5

I too have plans to use my power book G4.Well.... I gave myself and a spare G4 mac mini an early xmas present. A MorphOS registration key. Always thought the Graphite looked awesome, especially with the black Pro mouse and Pro keyboard with it. One of my favorite iMacs there. Nice photo.
