My daily driver is a 2012 Subaru WRX. I love driving it, but my needs have moved in a different direction and I'll be selling it sometime between now and November. I keep trying to figure out a way where it makes sense to keep it as a third car, but if I'm honest with myself it doesn't make much sense to do that. I should just sell it or trade it in when I get its replacement in November.

I'm very fond of the WRX, and if it weren't for my changing needs I'd be very satisfied. It's a riot to drive and it's a good city commuter for here in Houston.

Reliability: 8 of 10
Satisfaction: 8 of 10

My second car, track toy is a 2007 GT3 RS. I could not be any more satisfied with this car. If I crash it, I will just buy another one exactly like it. This one, for me, is one of those Seinfeld "dead guy" cars. The next owner will be because I'm dead and can't drive it any more.

Reliability: 9 of 10 (I abuse the hell out of it)
Satisfaction: 10 of 10

Fun stuff. That looks like MSR?

For the car guys: if you’ve never gotten a chance to pilot a GT3, let alone an RS variant, it’s pretty amazing. There’s a level of driver-to-car communication that’s borderline supernatural. It _will_ bite you in the ass, so you really have to have some respect (though not quite as insane as a dialed up GT2 :D )

Thanks for sharing!

[edit]

I glossed right over the track stickers, definitely see MSR and TWS

And another happy BMW owner.

2007 328xit (the wagon, but with sport package and a few other bits).

155K miles. Only one important repair, which was the water pump. That was about $1100, as I remember, and on a cross-country trip.

Otherwise, minor stuff.

Best car I ever had, by far.

Yep, both pics are from MSR Houston. That's probably my favorite track in the area, and we're lucky here in Texas to have a lot of local tracks to choose from. I put a couple thousand track miles a year on the GT3. https://macnugget.org/cars/gt3rs/track

Yeah, nice, you do have a high concentration in your area.

It’s decent here, I’m on the NE coast of Florida, so within 3 hours I’ve got Sebring and Roebling Road, then a 6-ish hour drive to Road Atlanta, CMP or PBIR (which I haven’t tracked, but did run the old Moroso a couple of times).

I actually kind of prefer Roebling (see avatar :) ) to Sebring, it’s less “epic”, but Savannah is a blast (a little too much fun actually, those 7am tech checks after a 2am last call are _brutal_ :D )

Year/Make/Model: 2013 Chrysler 300
Reliability: 10 (After 1 year of ownership, I have had no issues.)
Satisfaction from 1-10: 10
Next car: I am eyeing an SRT8.

I love those cars, so much. Not sure why I didn't buy one. ( My Grand Sport has suspension work, exhaust, intake, and a nice tune, I put about 470WHP to the rear wheels, and the fact its heavy as a convertible doesn't help ), But there is a guy who has one of those at the track I often go to track days at here in NY, and it makes me regret not buying a Z06, I can hang on his ass, but Ive rarely gotten past him, he even let me drive it once. Its so well balanced, and drives great, the most direct steering I've ever seen.

Very great car.

- 2005 Acura RSX TypeS

- photo ImageUploadedByTapatalk1407811444.651776.jpg

- original sale was Nov2004, so getting close to 10year birthday.
152,000 miles.
Raced it for 2 seasons of SCCA SOLO.
No maintenance outside the scheduled table in FSM. Oil, coolant, brakes, tire changes, et
Sport model 210hp. Rated 28mpg, I regularly score 32-35 hwy.

- Satisfaction 10

- Next car: Nothing. Economical sport hatchbacks have vanished. Integra/RSX dead. 240sx, dead. FR-S was botched by a trunk vs hatchback with fold-flat rear seats. Believe me, I have looked. I have thought about selling while car still has some decent value. But there is nothing even remotely interesting on the market.

Edit: forgot, $20 leather shift cover from ebay, factory one started deteriorating/shredding. So minor though.

Where have you been? Focus ST, Fiesta ST, GTI.

2007 VW Polo 1.4 (SE I believe) 3 door
Very reliable car, the only problem I've had with it was the passenger seat not going forward, although that turned out to be a bunch of change stuck in the seat :p

Only done 40k miles, got it at 26k, so pretty low mileage, but it's serv(ed/ing) me well.

Satisfaction 6/10. Although this is a very reliable, economical and practical car for my purposes, it's really effing boring! :p

I'm at uni at the moment and only 20, so cost of cars and insurance is a bit prohibitive. I will be doing a paid placement year starting in about 12 months, and during that I will turn 22. That will drop my insurance costs significatly, and I'll actually have some money, so my next car will be a Mazda MX-5, Mk1, 1.8. Probably going to be looking for a drivable but scruffy example and do it up, to teach myself about mechanics.

There are lots of awesome hatches available -- probably the best selection we've ever had access to (in the USA). I like them because they're versatile. I can feel 4 in my Golf R comfortably, can throw down the rear seats for more storage, and the car does well in all weather.

If I had to dump my car right now, I would take a long look at an S5 convertible, but I don't think I'd like that payment much at the configuration I'd want.

The Focus ST (and the Fiesta ST) are crazy fun to drive, but when I test drove the Focus, I had a love/hate relationship with the interior. It felt like a spaceship. I wanted to like the Ford Sync, and while I appreciate it on a technological level, some of the usability was strange. Did love the way the car was designed to modulate the brakes during cornering to help counteract understeer. That is impressive. Probably one of the best FWD cars I've ever driven, right up there with a Type-R, Mazda Protege, and Neon ACR.

Ugh, I need to get back into autocross.

Isn’t that a “sport hatchback” by definition :D

The Focus ST is a wicked sport-hatch (and easily tuned to 300+ HP).

See the third picture I posted of 240sx. Thats what we call hatchbacks.

The others are wagons.

Nah, I don’t know who the “we” is, but I’d call an ST a hatch (and I’ve been in the import scene for 25+ years), and in fact, a vast majority of the industry would agree with me. :)

2007 Ford Focus SE
Reliability: 10/10

Satisfaction: 10/10

Next purchase, back to a Jeep Wrangler.

This car was a buyers remorse after the 1st day.
With that said, the Focus has in all honesty been a great car.
I've owned it now for over 4 years, with 102K on the clock. Aside of normal maintenance and repairs,it has given me zero problems.
The satisfaction rating was a tough one for me.
But I had to be honest. If I were to buy another economy car, I would give the Focus another look.
As long as it is a stick, I don't like automatics.
The 2.0 has plenty of zip, it handles surprising well, and is great on gas.

Name is meaningless, still not buying one of the hideous things :p
And doesn't change the fact there there are few if any 240sx/944/integra type hatches around.

Oh totally, I wouldn’t suggest your opinion isn’t 100% valid :)

I hear you about the those cars, heck, I am kind of bummed about the loss of some of the really iconic sport compacts like the Integra and the 240SX.

Even the mid-market Japanese segment really dried up with the loss of the S2000, and a while back the Supra, RX7, and the NSX (though more higher end market).

The current 370 is pretty solid, the GT-R is stellar (but kind of priced itself into an ultra low volume, mostly unattainable market).

I know the FR-S isn’t a hatch, but it’s a pretty amazing driving dynamics, if you get a chance, and you haven’t already, definitely give one a try.

I have. It's fantastic. I'd miss the versatility of my RSX fold flat rear seats and hatch. I almost cried when I discovered it wasn't a hatch with fold flat rear seats like the 240 and Integra.

Toyota would have had a day 1 sale right here.

Nissan botched the hatch on the 350. Even though it drove fantastically. I was planning to get the 350z when I got the RSX. But the 350's near useless space under its hatch made the rsx win.

Thankfully no current car

But have owned my current 100 cc motorcycle, a 500 dollar (US) ex rental 1997 Honda, for over 10 years.

It has done about 150,000 miles in total. Properly maintained, it is 100% reliable and gets better than 100 mpg. I am well satisfied with it and expect to remain so for a few more years to come.

2011 Ford F350 Loaded Lariat Dually 6.7L Powerstroke Diesel Black on Black
Reliability : I guess 10/10 I've not had to do anything but change filters, oil and add fuel and DEF.
Satisfaction: The truck does exactly what it was built for, pull things better than any other truck I've ever had, so in that I'd give it a 10. For general all around driving I would give it a 7 or 8.
These trucks are not comfortable rides by any means and my older back and neck tells me about it. Yes it is BIG, it gets comments and by no means is it anyway a bad truck, IMHO it is the best in it's class but my needs are changing and what that means for the future of my F350, I'm not sure today.
I pull a 16,000lb fifth wheel RV with it and we are using it less and less, the only reason I went with a dually is because of the trailer.
My wife doesn't want to get rid of the trailer just yet nor the truck because both will be paid off in 2 years.

Her opinion is to just go get the F150 I want and keep the 350 and trailer in storage but who knows right now. Either way that's over a grand monthly payment on each that I will be glad to see gone, her car was just paid off in Feb so that's another G per month not going out.

2nd Vehicle, wife's
2007 Mercedes GL450 Loaded
Reliability: 5/10
- everything was covered under warranty and dealing with our dealer has been a 10/10 experience, but so far the air suspension has gone out three times, transmission once, air con twice, rear venting windows broke three times, trim around windows has peeled off and discolored 5 times, rotors once.
- like I mentioned the dealership is great and anytime the car goes in they come pick it up from our office and leave a loner Mercedes until ours is fixed. So far we've had a GLK twice, E350 coupe and sedan, numerous C-Series.
Satisfaction: Honestly we love the car itself so we are truly satisfied with it, I guess because the warranty has covered all of the issues, even still I'd give it at least an 8 / 10.

So next cars...
I'm looking at the 2015 Ford F150 King Ranch Ecoboost 2.7L
and my wife says IF and WHEN she gets ready to have a car note again
we are looking at a Range Rover or another GL450.

2013 Dodge Ram Quad Cab
Reliability has been good. 8 of 10
Satisfaction is a solid 10, love it.
Next vehicle? Probably a car that I fit in. (Big guy). That won't happen for many many years. I tend to keep a vehicle for as long as I can.

When I bought it, I wanted the bare minimum. No extras except for SeriusXM and a remote start. I had all the bells and whistles on my 07 Explorer and everything started to go bad. I tow a trailer and have 2 100 lb dogs and appreciate the space. I don't need the Hemi, but might go with thee diesel next.

My wife drives a 2011 Chrysler 200 with the sport package. Very fun to drive. Satisfaction also a 10.

2011 BMW Z4
Reliability: 8/10
Satisfaction: 10/10
Next car: Audi RS5 when the warranty runs out on the Z4 this year.
