LOL@ Protruding camera still.

Don't worry everyone. Maybe in Fall 2017 they'll get it right...
Or maybe not, since 2017 will be an S-version. So not necessarily a case redesign.

There are also three dots towards the bottom of the iPhone 7 Plus that appear to be for a Smart Connector, a new interface first introduced on the iPad Pro that can transmit both data and power at the same time for use with accessories. It is, however, unknown how a Smart Connector would be used on an iPhone.

Really, Macrumors? No imagination there?
How about a battery case that allows you free access to the Lightning port at the same time.

Will not buy anything look like this. This is not really different from the 6S design either, other than the different location of antenna bands.

Looking for something that would delight me, something like every time I remove the case from 5S and I think this is such a fine and elegant product.

Sure... Especially from an hardware perspective

Samsung marketing machine at its finest...
What resolution is the iPhone at and what resolution is the S7 at?If you ran the PowerVR GPU at that res the result would be similar. The iPhone has a low redps display but this helps it to run games better at the cost of image quality

Samsung S7 is like a Gwenoth Paltrow trapped in a Miranda Kerr body.
iPhone 7 presented here is like Nicole Kidman trapped in an anorexic heroin addicted female body with a training bra cup size.

To make sense of this, Gwentoth Paltrow is a real cxxt and Nicole Kidman is a trustworthy, honest, and all around winner.

That's it! The headphone jack is going away, and the 7 will ship with Lightning headphones. "But how will I charge and listen to music at the same time?" Answer: Smart Connector. Whether you charge through a battery case, dock, or some new charger, they could all use the SC while leaving Lightning open.

I think unpractical stands for just shoot and share on other tiny phone screens, just as 99,5% of smartphones' pictures are all about. Image quality standards took a dive to "bare enough" depths a long time ago, at least for the great majority of users.
It's the other way around. Phone cameras have been absolutely unusable **** for the most time of their existence and just now they are becoming actually really good even for professional uses. As a reporter you could record an interview in HDTV quality no problem.

am i crazy or does it look exactly like the iphone 6/6s? besides antenna lines and camera lens, what is the difference? how else do you put a dual camera on a phone?

Why are those ugly antenna bands still there? Now they just shifted them to the top. They are still hideous looking.
Because Apple still can't defeat physic... Unless you are looking for an iPhone unable to make phone calls

Having a smart connector for would be cool! Imagine a battery case that doesnt need to plug into the lightening port, it instead powers through the smart connector.

Wow! Looks great. I am ready to trade in my Galaxy S7 Edge, give up 2 extra gigs of ram, waterproof, micro SD expansion, superfast low light and focus, my 3.5mm headphone jack, 3600 maH battery and wireless charging. Can't wait!!
Do you mean to have a phone that's not just a long specs list ? You are right: trade in your S7

How about making the iPhone slightly thicker and battery bigger???? I'm sure no one ever brings this up in their meetings. Everyone sitting in the room just says, "Oh, my iPhone is not thin enough!"

As far as thinness goes, I've always said that the latest gen iPod Touch would be the perfect size phone for me. It's 6.1mm but still has room for a headphone jack, go figure! If you've never held one I recommend you try it. Paired with it's lightness and 4in screen it's all I've ever wanted for a phone. Here's hoping to the SE or whatever it is.

Also its clear that 100% of the worries about the camera bump everyone had before the iPhone 6 launch ended up being for nothing. It doesn't wobble while using the phone on a flat surface so please y'all, move on. I'd argue its better design than some of the chins/humps on other phones that accommodate the camera.

The camera protruding seems to not matter much once you have a case on the phone. From my observations many if not most people have a case on their smartphone...

Oh believe me, I would love a thicker iPhone with a much bigger battery in it! Was just suggesting that could be a purpose of the smart connector at least :)

I love this thing already and cannot wait for September! I love the current design and Apple absolutely does not need to alter it to stay fresh in any major way. Dual camera looks interesting, just a matter of time before someone already rips off the idea though!!

I am stoked!

I too agree with you but sometimes you have to wonder who the hell at Apple makes decisions like these. "Let's put in a smart connector!" - when NO ONE ASKS FOR ONE! I think many have been asking for larger battery/stop the thinness obsession.

But NOOOOOO, we must make it thinner and add another connector but remove the headphone port because we think you need that instead!

Time will tell for now I will reserve my judgement against that connector port. all I know is that those antenna bands are hideous and they are now half as hideous considering all they did was remove parts of it. If it takes great images, then the I will line up for this phone. Otherwise, it's another year with my Samsung!

Whether the headphone jack goes away or not, this is a great solution for using any Lightning accessories while simultaneously charging the phone. Beats the heck out of their current passthrough adapter designs. I'm surprised nobody thought of this before now.

It doesn't matter. The facts are the iPhone keep performance over the time... On the S7 you have such an high resolution to hide the PenTile matrix but after a few minutes performance halves....
Again: Samsung marketing machine at its finest

Ps: the same GPU is running at even higher resolution on iPads without throttling. It's not the GPU throttling, but the CPU itself. The Apple's SoC is just better balanced for continuous computing.

Now, this is incredibly intriguing.
