The laser etched QR code and text is pretty much exactly as you would expect on an unreleased 'prototype' iPhone or iPad.
Publicly available FCC fillings of previous iPhones come with images of devices with such QR codes.

Smart connector is intriguing. Likely to be used with a "wireless" charging solution (power mat, etc).

Yes, but the software... spare yourself. If you're switching to Android, get a Nexus instead.
The fact that everyone is calling it ugly means it's real. Remember when the first pictures of iPhone 6 came out with those antenna bands and everybody was like "There is no way that is the next iPhone!"
It's only March, though, so it would be surprising to me to have real photos of the next iPhone. But we got pictures of iPhone 6 pretty early that turned out to be correct.

I was just thinking it was quite early for such leaks about iphone.....unless it comes out before september.....

On a side note, feld & volk do really have some insider info most of the time. And if they are confident enough to come up with their own renderings and even some concept design of their upcoming custom iPhone 7, then I think this image is real.

the way they unified the dual cameras is not bad at all, but the way it's protruding... I mean, at least add a metallic ring to it... Also I don't call this a redesign. I think Jony Ive needs to go home
I sure hope they don't include the current gimmicky implementation of wireless charging. Having to place my phone on a mat is just as much work as plugging it in. I have phones with wireless charging and I never use it.

NO APPLE. If you're not going to put effort into ridding your future models of obvious antenna lines, then put effort into a non protruding camera. This must be fake. If it's not, then Apple either can't or doesn't appreciate good design anymore, or it's design and engineering departments are just completely dysfunctional.
I'm digging the lack of antennae bands, and the double camera could definitely grow on me. Is the Apple logo supposed to be so high up, though? I thought they tended to vertically center them between the top and "iPhone" text.

Now that I think of it, the antenna breaks on the 6s give it some kind of 'personality', but this looks totally bland and not in a good way like the 4/4s - most beautiful design.

It doesn't matter how "incredible, "magical" or "inspiring" the photos it produces are, if that's the next iPhone with THAT camera bulge, it's a fairly shocking release from a company that claimed to be so obsessed with clean design.

I think many people said the same thing about iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 and ended up buying them... Not that I like this design, though.
Dropping my phone on a mat bedside rather than fumbling around in the dark for the cable and trying to find the port sounds pretty good to me. Obviously it doesn't help you much when traveling, etc. We have to crawl before we can walk and run...
Clearly the connector will be used for other things like battery cases, selfie stick connections, and a port for the FBI to get into your data without a passcode.
