Not sure how I feel about the turquoise and yellow color combo though.
People are taking the schematics too literally. the colors in the image aren't going to be in the final product.

This actually looks like it will be a beautiful device. Imagine a black stainless steel frame and matte black finish. The front of the phone being entirely black, as one large display...

This will be an awesome device. People just don't seem to understand how schematics can translate into a product.

If you still have some top and bottom bezels and a fingerprint reader on the back, give me the 7s and the home button / fingerprint reader on the front. JMHO....

I do like the dual camera (hopefully for all models this year - this is a little confirmation of the 3GB RAM increase).

The front looks alot like the Samsung that just came out and I don't particularly like it, although the fingerprint scanner is better - more like the Google Pixel - since its not right by the smudged camera lens like the Samsung.

I remember seeing the iPhone 6 at this stage too and it pretty much turned out to be the final product. If thats the iPhone 8, Apple has simply lost the game. I would likely upgrade to the more evolutionary iPhone 7s with the home button on the front. Touch ID on the back is just ridiculous. If they can't get the embedded Touch ID to work, just leave it on the front. No need to make it an inconvenience.

I personally wouldn't mind the Touch ID being put around the back of the phone. I would hope by doing that there would be no point in only making 5.15 inches of the phone as the space you can use. Might as well take the full advantage of the 5.8 inch screen. So I do not see this being such a big deal.
I'm not surprised this is one of the possibilities they're testing, especially after yesterday's rumor (https://www.macrumors.com/2017/04/12/apple-struggling-with-touch-id-under-display/). Really hope this gets sorted out and doesn't become the final version, though.

Edit: Sad to see the home button go as well, but it has become increasingly less necessary so I understand Apple wanting to remove it and use that space for the display.

You get my comment was a joke, right?

again, who else is buying the s8? lol!!

i've been an iphone user since the beginning but after tje huge disappointment of the iphone 7, i lost faith in apple. the s8 is the phone that is breaking my 10yr relationship with iphone and my first android phone! would have been the note 7 but we know what happened there...

Putting it on the back renders most useful cases useless, does it not? Also, I enjoy using a magnetic mounting method for my handsfree stuff in my car. Right now, I can touch the front ID button and easily unlock if needed. Putting it in the back would involve extra time to search for it. Safety hazard and such, no? This is a terrible idea. It's not a natural location for a finger when you're holding the finger which goes against the practical approach Apple tries to take.

I actually don't mind touch ID on the back. I used it on the LG G5 and the Huawei Mate and they were fine (runs and hide).

Hope it doesn't end up being that wide. The Samsung S8 managed a 5.8 screen and is only 1 mm wider than the regular iphone, surely the iphone 8 doesn't need to be 5 mm wider to fit the same screen. This is obviously not an issue for anyone who is used to the plus, but the regular iphone is almost too wide for me to use one handed, which is still an important feature for me.

It's also a pretty ugly design, hopefully the actual design looks better or it may have trouble competing with the S8.
