I thought the beats fit pro were the replacement to these I have been waiting for those to get updated not a return to these.
Beats fit pro are junk compared to these in terms of staying in ear. Even with the "hooks" they still have to be adjusted (especially if you sweat alot) during your workout.

I just hope the fit is as good as the original, cause those fit my ears perfectly without any annoyance.
And I hope the fit is better than the original, cause they require some fiddling around as I'm using as they don't really stay put. 😅

I use the Beats Fit Pros. They fit well, stay in place, are very compatible with iOS, and don't have the ear hook which I feel is uncomfortable. I have them in fluorescent yellow, because if you ever drop them in an airplane it sure makes finding them easier.

More shenanigans from Gurman and Bloomberg. Apple already filed the product with the FCC so everyone already knew the product was imminent. Why are you giving them credit for figuring out what everyone else already did? As for their “week or so” claim about a press event give me a break. If they actually have a source at Apple they would know the actual date. Do you think Apple calls up reporters and tells them to come on over at the last minute? Seriously guys, try to use some common sense.

I prefer the ear hook on the Powerbeats. People's ears are shaped differently 🤷‍♂️. The Beats Fit Pro are not a replacement for the Powerbeats but an alternative. They should continue to offer and update both of them to provide options to people that work best for them.
Yes exactly. The hooks on the Fit Pro are too big for my ears. :(

Shame they don’t seem to care much for the Beats Fit Pro anymore. I guess this just subsumes it (I liked how small it was compared to this one though). Ah well.
The power beats pros Don’t work for my ears and AirPods don’t stay in well enough when I’m working out. I really hope they don’t eliminate the beats fit pros!

AirPods refuse to stay in my ears so I bought a few pair of silicon wingtips that obviously have to be removed before putting the AirPods back in the case. It’s been annoying and a few years ago I kept checking for news on whether PowerBeats Pro 2 were on the horizon as I didn’t want to buy years old PowerBeats 1’s that reportedly had issues (and to this day sell at full price in Canada for $330!). It appeared that the Beats Fit Pro were the successors so I bought a pair and had to return them as they wouldn’t stay in my ears either. I continued using my AirPods with wingtips and pretty much gave up hope.

Now in 2025 I see this story and it piqued my interest, but it’s been so long that I’m not sure I even care anymore. What took them so long?

Disappointed there’s no white option.

In September, Apple said that it would be launching Powerbeats Pro 2 in 2025, and it appears the wireless earbuds are coming very soon.

In his Power On newsletter today, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said the Powerbeats Pro 2 are "due imminently." In addition to Apple filing the Powerbeats Pro 2 in regulatory databases last month, Gurman said Apple is planning to hold product briefings with the media "in a week or so" to go over the new features of the wireless earbuds.

Powerbeats Pro are a sportier, fitness-focused alternative to AirPods Pro with built-in, adjustable ear hooks for a secure fit. Apple's teaser video last year showed MLB star Shohei Ohtani wearing the Powerbeats Pro 2, revealing a more vertical, slimmer design compared to the original Powerbeats Pro, which are now discontinued.

We previously reported that the Powerbeats Pro 2 will offer heart rate monitoring during workouts. Based on our iOS 18 code findings, you will be able to connect the Powerbeats Pro 2 to gym equipment like a treadmill to measure heart rate, and the data will be visible in the Health app and other supported apps on the iPhone.

We also confirmed that Powerbeats Pro 2 will support Active Noise Cancellation, Spatial Audio, and Adaptive Audio. The earbuds and charging case will be available in Jet Black, Quick Sand, Electric Orange, and Hyper Purple, and the case should have a USB-C port.

Based on other recent Beats headphones, other potential upgrades for the Powerbeats Pro 2 include improved sound quality, longer battery life, and improved cross-platform compatibility with Android features like Find My Device.

I purchased the original Powerbeats Pro at launch and the two issues I had with them is that one earbud would be charged at 100% meanwhile the other would remain at 0. The second issue I’d have is that I would get severe ear fatigue on the tops of my ear from prolonged use. Lots of rubbing there. I eventually went and purchased a pair of Beats Fit Pro. Now the ear wing on one of the buds is starting to detach completely(a known issue). I’ve owned every version of Powerbeats as they’ve all typically been great for gym use and running. Very sweat resistant. I’m looking forward to purchasing these also. Hoping for less ear fatigue and better charging. Also hoping the charging case is smaller similar to the Beat Fit Pro.

Are the Beats Fit Pro better than the AirPods Pro in some way? Looks like the same design.

They’re great for gym use but durability isn’t great. The ear tips seem to come detached easily.

I'm still using the original PowerBeats Pros, though one of the pods I bought a refurb replacement on Jan 2023. The case is bulky and sometimes doesn't charge properly but 12/27/19 through now is pretty good for tech. Once the new ones are out I'll have to look at the features and price. Doubt these old ones are worth much. Not fancy but they still get the job done.

If they are focused on sports, design < function

Just out of curiosity , what charging issues are you speaking about here ?
One side charges while the other doesn't. Nothing worse than going to run and one side being charged while the other is dead.

The only upside is that after finding one earbud to be dead, once you fiddle with it and get it to start charging, you're good for a workout after about 10 minutes because they charge fast. But that gets old after awhile. It's kind of a tragic design flaw because everything else about them I like. Very curious what changes they'll make to address this.
