If I unpair them from my account, they dont ping constantly. The fact that they do that and never enter a real sleep mode when I have them on my account and bluetooth on my phone is off is beyond stupid. And when they're in the case, they're doing the same damn thing and draining the battery of the case in the process. It's moronic design to not allow the user the option to disable this in order to keep the batteries alive a lot longer.

They do sleep when they are cased, just like AirPods. But when they are not cased they do not sleep and they are waiting to be used - it doesn't get much simpler than that to an end user and some manual toggle would not offer any benefit to them.

AirPods will occasionally wake while inactive to update their devices available from iCloud (and do other sync related things) so I assume that the W1 works on the Pros works in the same fashion for those additional benefits you get.

Honestly, you're over here flipping tables for a nonissue. That's why no one is losing their minds. It's a good, well thought out product.

I actually had an hour long phone call at the gym yesterday and there was no issues with not being heard. I made sure to ask.
That's not objective.

I bought the Beoplay E8 2.0, trust me, the mic is much MUCH worse. A phone call is basically not possible in noisy areas.

That's not objective.

And objectively, the AirPods microphone is still terrible, compared to wired.

I've been looking for a good pair of headphones to use on runs and bike rides for a while now and I was willing to pay a premium price because nothing out there seemed to work well. These hit the spot perfectly - they're easy to use, and in my case, I hardly feel them when working out (YMMV depending on ear size), and they can withstand my insane amount of sweat. I'm a satisfied customer and I'm nor surprised demand currently exceeds supply.

I've owned and returned 4 AirPods because I thought the ones I had were faulty. Apple finally admitted they were behaving as intended. When connected to an Apple account, all 4 pair kept draining battery when in the case. When removed from an Apple account, they barely drain at all. That isn't a minor issue. That's major given how small those batteries are and how little effort it takes to degrade them over time. Every competitor's earbuds I've used reconnect when the devices are removed from the case and sleep properly when in their case. Why can't Apple get that right when they're charging 3-4 times the competition?

I returned mine after 2 days. The audio performance was terrible. Not going to pay that kind of money for such low quality sound.

They probably more accurately reproduced the imperfections in your "obtained" MP3s from the early 2000's. :p

First time I've ever read this report. Something seems fishy to me.

Do you not read this forum? There’s a thread about it. Multiple threads if you include AirPods.

Hmmm. No. Not compared on the same track to my B&W P9 Signatures.

Importing it from China to Hong Kong. So unbelievable... It was usually Hong Kong to get the stocks first. o_O

Arriving on 16th June.

I'm using them to run.
I was previously using the AirPod for that purpose but they continuously move and I have to put them back in position in order to get a good sound. By simply touching them while running they would often interpret that as a double tap.

Now I'm using the Powerbeats Pro and while they don't move at all, the air flow while running makes a lot of noise due to the angular shape and maybe also due to the hook.

DAMN IT! Norway isn't even on the list. I've completely stopped using my AirPods due to battery issues. And if I buy it on eBay I have to deal with import fees, extra VAT and all that bull...

I got mine today after ordering via Apple Store app and collecting in Covent Garden.

My AirPods, bought in December 2016, are almost completely unusable now because of the battery. Either left or right doesn't connect at all or they beep at me after about 5 minutes of use. Plus I've found their sound quality to be completely mediocre — had to buy rubber covers to try and isolate the sound a bit better and to stop them falling out my ears.

Anyway — so far I'm impressed with these. They have a slim form factor so don't look overly ridiculous to wear. Sound quality is good and relatively deep. Much better for me than AirPods. I need to try another size to be sure I've got completely the right fit.

The case is big and especially compared to AirPods so that's going to take a bit of getting used to. Really wish they'd added wireless charging to it which would have been much easier and more worthy of the price.

As I'll be using these a lot for exercise, I'm excited to not have to keep repositioning them and worrying about them falling out. Already a huge advantage.

I actually just walked to a third-party retail store in Australia today and they were on the shelf - got $10 off the price as well!
Since I'm travelling overseas soon I can also claim the 10% sales tax back!

If I could only choose one, it would be the airpods. Why? The airpods case easily fits into your pocket, the airpods easily go in your ear and can be removed. With the airpods, if you are not listening to music or in a call you can hold a conversationw without removing them. With he Beats you cannot hear while they are inserted in your ear, the beats are better for music, noise isolation just not better for overall everyday use. (in my opinion)

Since we're talking about battery drain so much, here's what mine do.

Went for a 1 hour run. Earbuds dropped to 91%. At this rate this would actually give over 10 hours battery life, rather than the 9 advertised. Connected to the watch.

Returned home, put them in the case. Case dropped to 96%, earbuds fully charged.

Next day, went for a 1 hour run. Earbuds dropped to 91% again. Connected to the watch.

Returned home, put them in the case. Case dropped to 90%, earbuds fully charged.

Next day, went for a 1 hour run. Earbuds dropped to 90%. Connected to the watch.

Returned home, put them in the case. Case dropped to 84%, earbuds fully charged.

At this rate, of 1 hour runs per day, I'm going to get 15-20 charges out of the case. The earpods themselves appear as though they will exceed the 9 hours battery life. The case is maybe dropping 1% a day on its own. I have not plugged it in for close to 4 days now and am sitting still above 80%.

Also, the way the earbuds switch between the phone and the watch is awesome.

Even if yours is on the list.. the constant delay has driven me to order from Taobao and has it shipped to me. It will arrive later today.

Meh, if there was a quick and secure way to pay extra to have it delivered from the US, I might do the same, but I don't know of one.

My pair ordered from Taobao China arrived last night.

Pros:
- Generally impressed by the very strong connectivity compared to my BeoPlay E8 which drops connection occasionally just with a little interference.
- Pairing is convenient and solid as expected.
- Bass is strong, with treble less clear than the BeoPlay. Significantly better sound quality than the BeatsX
- Voice quality during a phone call is excellent, while it is nearly impossible to make a phone call for the BeoPlay in a noisy environment (deal breaker for me).
- Battery life is crazy, 30 minutes of music listening only consumed 5% of the battery.
- Once you place it correctly in the ear it's impossible to drop it. Wearing it is not as difficult as expected.
- PHYSICAL freaking buttons!

Cons:
- The case is extremely bulky and unwieldy, the size is almost comical with slippery material. Almost impossible to open the case by one hand.
- Music quality is a little bit worse than the BeoPlay.
- The earhook may cause pain depends on the shape of your ears.
- No wireless charging case.
- Some practice is needed to put the earbuds in the right place in the charging case...

They're available in Belgium as well. Delivery date marked as the week of 22nd of july. I wonder how long it will take for the other colors to become available!
