There was also an article way back when about soldering a bridge to set master on pismo aftermarket cd drives

Some time back , was wondering if it would be possible to put a hd (or ssd) in a pismo cdrom module, never open one...
The VST hd modules are bootable.

I'm in Europe and my 400 MHz Pismo was less than 100 bucks. Quite a bit less, IIRC. One buck per MHz is insane no matter where you are IMO. 😉
