Well, it sounds like Apple didn't have a choice. The new PowerBooks are (presumably) using the new PowerPC 7457 chip which Motorolla was SUPPOSED to deliver in May, but of course they missed the boat. The IBM's 970 is actually beating the 7457, which is just sad.

Rev G was available on July 15th. That's what the Moto doc promised, and I've seen no news that countermanded it.

ARGH!!! This is starting to become some kind of sport. Just how long can YOU wait for a PowerBook?
Although come to think of it, I once waiting more than 6 months for Dell to SHIP me a Pentium 3 system-after I had already ORDERED it. I canceled the order 5 months in-actually I cancelled it about 3 or 4 times, and the Dell people swore it was cancelled, but shipped it to me anyway (I refused it).

WasteGate, yeah it's weird that Apple Australia has a 1-2 days ship time when Apple U.S. has a 5-7 day build time. Australia is weird like that, hardly anyone knows whats going on.
at least it's good that when they do get released it won't take a couple of months just for the announcement just to get to Australia.

The build time reflects the Aussie ability to ship things quickly
not like the US Nothing's happening Friday. We're just clinging to the fantasy that they're going to update tommorow. Which they won't, but pretending is fun ;D

I doubt we will really see a major revamp on the PB lines in this Paris show.
Why? Notice how apple is reskinning our OSX with all the stainless metal look.
I really really think that the next PB update is when they recolour our PBs back to the real aluminium color. Then it will match the new Panther look.
No new PB until January. Maybe just reskinning of the 15inch into Aluminium with the bluetooth built into it.
Minor speed bumps for all PBs are possible.

What was the total shipping delay on your PBook?
I decided to go with a PB 12 60/640/AE/Combo and a 15 GB iPod. They iPod was updated to a 20 GB today at no cost... still hoping on a PB Update.
