I here the Eye fi SDHC card, and eye-fi iPad App. Is one of the best solutions.

Thanks, completely forgot about the wireless transfer stuff...again!

On other note, does it not seem like this is kind of a replacement to iPhoto, the logo is rather similar and the UI is rather like an Apple style...I don't know really, just thinking about it earlier. Haven't Apple brought companies in the past and then used their Apps as their own, not saying that is going to happen here...

The only gripe I have is fonts. It's so close to the Mac version that I want to use it for real projects, but without the ability to add fonts from my Mac, I can't do that. Even opening old projects isn't possible because the fonts aren't supported.

I'm sure this will get better in time.

I don't recommend the Eye-Fi. I even have the expensive pro version and it's glitchy and slow. Not only is it not worth the money, but I don't even use it anymore because it was literally the worst. The cord is the way to go. Faster and you're not left wondering if it actually transferred everything.

Yeah, Apple may have gave these guys the Royal treatment, because there Mac App is phenomenal (a true Photoshop competitor).

I if Apple was to buy this company it wouldn't be a bad idea at all, but this App has already Sparked other companies into making Desktop Class IOS Apps. Affinity Designer is one of them (Making an iPad App).

This may be great for the App Store.

I used it for a small period of time. A friend let me use it. I've never had long term use out of it, but I enjoyed it.

Do you think its better now in 2014? I've herd that it works pretty good (the Eye-Fi Mobi).

I use a wifi drive with a SD card slot which I just then connect to through Readdle's Documents. I think it works well since I can use it for multiple things on the iPad. Even better now Infuse lets me stream video from it. :D

Works on an iPad 2, down and dirty...

I really like this app. I use it as my main photoshop replacement. I just hope they wont go the route of "the other" app by charging for subscription in the future!!

they touted how well it works on the air 2. i'm curious what the difference in usability is on the air.

I spent about half an hour exploring it on my Air. Silky smooth so far. No complaints (yet).

I like what this company is doing. It's good to see something shake things up a bit in the market since Adobe went sub-based. I'm merely a hobbyist, and although Adobe's $9.99/month cost for PS and LR is cheaper than a standard for-pay MMO game, a one-time cost of $49.99 (for OS X app) and $4.99 (for iPad app) appeals to me much more.

Professionally, I may sing a diff tune, but I'll leave the verdict on that front to those better suited to the task.

Mouse??

Now Apple just needs to add bluetooth mouse support.

If the iPad is truly more than a media consumption device and is actually a device to get work completed, then Apple should support mice.

I'm not going to do Photoshop style editing using a finger!

Remote Desktop would work a hell of a lot better also (more accurate) with a mouse also.

I have never used Pixelmator but looks awesome. Can anyone point the features where it just outshines Photoshop?

Also, does this app have a lasso or a quick selection tool and the ability to delete or paint that selection?

Thanks in advance!

Use a stylus! The workflow is faster, especially with the buttons and the pressure sensitivity rocks for getting into the small bits.

What! No! To me that would be horrible. Once an App is developed for the way the device is used, it doesn't matter if its on a tablet or desktop. This App is a perfect example of that.

I also think that this is the future any way. Every thing is, and will be influenced by the way we use our phones (the most used computer ever).

My nice was using my phone and she didn't know what my desktop mouse was LOL. I explained to her its use cases, and she looked at me like a was crazy, and said so you cant touch it, it looks harder to use than this (my phone). I LOL.

I'm not sure, but this may be the world we find ourselves in, LOL.

The new iPad screens are pressure sensitive? I'm sure Apple would make a big deal out of it if true:confused::confused::confused:

Wow. That's really odd.

Maybe because I've been exposed to mice since a young age?

Price. Frankly if you own PS you don't "need" Pixelmator. That said it is an excellent alternative for most people. As a whole it has a comparable level of robustness in the out of box tools, but it lacks the extensibility of PS.
And yes, it has all the functions you mentioned.

problems in Germany

download in Germany isn't possible in the moment, had the following messages in the Appstore: download not available or sold out ;-(.
Hope, it will be available soon!

I've been playing around with this a bit last night and it's an excellent app but it does have its issues that hopefully will get addressed soon but as a version 1i am impressed. I compared the repair tool on the same image between the retina mini and Air 2 and I'm seeing a 2.5x increase in performance.
Now some bad things...

  • No raw support at the moment but possibly an iOS 8 bug.
  • No inverse selection mode.
  • No clone tool.
  • Selection modes can sometimes be erratic and laggy.
  • No noise reduction tool.

Some of these missing features should have been included in this first release but I am a huge fan of the app and the developers. I'm also thinking this looks very much like an Apple app to the point where I can see them being bought by Apple.

So what are you waiting for. Go out an buy an iPad so you can enjoy Pixelmator as everyone else. :p

Haha. ;)

I go back and forth on wanting an iPad just about every day. But now that it has 2 GBs of RAM and is a beast processor wise I've really been considering it. Maybe soon.

Hehehe, no, the styluses have SDKs that developers can implement that control it.

I have had issues using mice ever since I switched to a trackpad full time. They annoy me so much and are only good for certain things.

Wow, loving this.

I'm finding the UI easier to use than on the mac too.

Smooth as silk on the Air 2.

I'm not blown away by this. It seems to be focused heavily around effects. I was hoping for a more granular tool that is similar to Lightroom. But this is more like an advanced Instagram app that can use layering.

There is still quite a way to go.
