PowerMac G5s Trickling In

Since I don't have my .mac website setup here's my single picture offering of my new Mac. I think Genie was a much better subject beside her new Mac than most of us anyway! I was trying to figure out if I was envious of Genie cause she had her Mac or of her Mac because it had her...Ohh nevermind ;) lol

Anyway I thought this was an interesting picture of my new Mac beside my Sun Ultra 60 and my Dell D600. Notice it makes the Ultra 60 look kinda small. Of course that is mainly because the handles are very large on the G5.

You should be able to find someone to get you one before Oct 14- that's a little long-

That would almost make you want to wait for Rev b in February...

Almost certainly. Maybe when a release date for Panther is officially announced, systems bought afterwards will get a free upgrade, but that's the most I'd expect. This is just Apple soaking the early adopters, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Yeah, it looks like the 1G sticks are rare enough to be expensive. The prices will drop over the next few months.

Datamem's price is half of what I've seen from anyone else who even has the part. (Crucial and Kingston don't!)

Of course, I haven't been able to test whether my 2Gigs actually works! Hopefully, my machine will ship tomorrow or Monday, so I can find out.

This post gives me hope. Granted it's just pure delusional help, but help none the less...

and ya know, it is the damnedest thing, i keep checking my status on the apple store, just about every half hour, and it just doesn't seem to change, it keeps on 'on or before oct 24th', i figured if i checked it enough, maybe it'd magically jump up...sigh...

I'm a convert from PC to an apple, and it couldn't be going smoother. All my apps open three times as fast and i'm loving the integration between all the iApps. My iSight rocks and everything is really cool with the computer.

cool yeah the same for me... I was the first order from the menlo park nj apple store and got mine last week... I was told in the store that my order would have priority because it was placed there... .My order went in 24 June 0824L pdt.....I'm a switcher too... very very happy with everything.... it is very impressive in person... 23HD is awesome~!

can't remember where but I saw $29.00 for 10.2 users maybe free for 10.2.7??

well, they're shipping now, which is good. but I'm still very dissappointed with how slowly they shipped. This is WAY after August.
I was planning on buying a Dual 2 at the end of August, but now that I haven't been able to get one and I know i won't be able to get one for another while, I think I'll wait until MacWorldSF and see if they update the line.

After reading of all the delays, when I ordered my G5 2.0Ghz on 9/18/03 I wasn't surprised to see 'shipping on or before 10/21/03' appear on the order status.

I WAS rather disappointed to see the date change to 10/27/03 at the beginning of this week.

I was totally startled to see 'Shipped 9/24/03' when I checked just now! It should be here tomorrow.

nah I got mine already.... you will love apple again when it comes....lennox is a nice mall though.... have lunch there.. .it won't seem so bad
 
august ordered CTO g5 DP shipped!!!

i ordered august 17th. got shipping notification september 25th. i am so stoked!!! my g5s specs are 2ghz DP, radeon 9800, 2x250 gigs, bluetooth, and 2 gigs ram. i think i'll have to smoke one to this! hope all of you get your DP g5s soon... it ain't no g5, unless its a DP!!!

man, seems like Genie was taking her time opening the box...If it was me. I would rip off that box like there is no tomorrow!

There are a few other sites with women and G5's, and much less clothing than my little gallery...

 
Yahoo! Picked mine up at the Apple Store in Woodfield. Can't use it until tomorrow, after I buy a cinema display. Tough sleeping tonight!
By the by, it looked as though they still had a couple in stock.
 
My machine shipping early as well...

I ordered late, so was not surprised by the 10/16 estimated ship date. However, I received notification today that it has shipped and should be here tomorrow!
 
POwerbook delivery in UK

The apple store UK gives a build time of 10-15 days for a 1.25 15 Alumbook, does anyone know if this accurate?

I really want one in time for my birthday! :D

eh, luckily i dont live in the uk, so i dont know. :D

but the rest of the posts on here haven't been too favorable towards the apple store uk, many saying that their stuff takes longer to ship, and if you track it, the things being sent all over the uk to finally recieve it or something like that. But like i said, i have no experience, so i'm not 100% positive
 
still not shipping mine

I ordered my dual CTO on June 26th and I am still waiting for it to ship over 3 months later. There'll be no joy left when I finally receive it. Why does Apple LIE to its customers so much? Last time I'll ever pre-order.
