An unique set of actively developed open source games ported to PowerPC Macs running Leopard (with some minor [untested] support for Tiger).

These only had binary Intel builds, so after some heavy treatment, they fit right at home.

Xonotic - 0.8.2

An arena first-person shooter based on Nexuiz, with multiplayer support. (Client and Server included)
The current version is pretty GPU heavy, so this will work best with a G4 or G5 with a higher end card.

Teeworlds - 0.6.4

https://www.teeworlds.com/
2D multiplayer side-scrolling shooting game based around cartoon physics. (Client and Server included)
Actually works quite nicely on even slower machines, and is buttery smooth on a Ti PowerBook G4!

Fan of the original text-based adventure game? This is for you!
This was already released as part of another thread, but it may as well be thrown in here. :D

This is a project I'm actively working on, so there are more games to come (and posted to this thread over time)!

You ported these to PowerPC yourself? If so, that's pretty impressive. Tempted to try out the first one on my Power Mac G5 Quad (upgraded to Radeon X1900 GPU) sometime.

Is it possible to do this with other applications?
If those applications are open-source, then it might be possible. Most are not, unfortunately.

I just tried Teeworlds on my TiBook G4, but it doesn't run when I launch the game. Any suggestions? The website says it needs OpenGL. Do I need Leopard installed for this?

He did originally say Tiger was largely untested...

really cool that you where able to build these for PPC :)

Teeworlds runs well on my DLSD in leopard :) ill have to test it on some lower spec machines and in tiger at some point :D

I just tried out Teeworlds on my PowerBook G4 1.67 GHz, it runs quite nicely! I'll have to poke around in it more, and actually figure out what the heck I'm doing, but it looks like fun!
