Not in this case. I bought the monoprice screen protectors and put it on my new iPad and my wife's iPad 2. They look flawless and just as good as any of the other brands (I've used powersupport and steinheil before). Save yourself some money and get the monoprice ones!

BTW - I used the shower steam method and that helped alot with dust etc. Keep a roll of scotch tape on hand just in case. I had a dust speck in each of the 2 I installed and was able to peel back the shield, use the tape to remove it and put the sheild back on. No bubbles and you wouldn't be able to tell they were on if not for the edge "ridges" around the camera and home button holds.

I'm debating whether to go with the wet install or not. Are the results as good? Anyone have any bad experiences?

That's a nice finding. Do you see any rainbow at all on the Monoprice ones? Also any edge lifting (despite dust-free install and no screw up) like the older version of SGP Steinhei?

Thanks.

Yes, you get the rainbow on the monoprice ones but only under fluorscent lights. Under incandenscent, LED and natural lights, you can't see it. Nor can you see it when the screen is on (in any light).

To this point, no edge lifting. I think if you install it correctly, the edges are safely within the confines of the screen edge and aren't prone to catch on things and get pulled up. When I showed a few people at work, they didn't believe I had a screen protector on.

With the skin on the back and the shield on the front, I'm not using any case or cover but will use the smart cover with the incipio smart feather case when I travel. Neither have issues with the skin and shield.

Then it is pretty good, considering a fraction of the cost. :) Rainbow under light is very distracting. What is left to be tested is the durability.

Only when the screen is off...I'm not sure how that's distracting. If the screen is off you generally aren't looking at it. Even if it lasts 1/4 the time of the pricier ones, it's 1/10 the cost or less.

In my experience the power support screen protectors are of really high quality. It doesn't diminish screen clarity at all. The only downside is the cost. Right now I'm using the switcheasy pure that came with my canvas case and there is a slight rainbow effect under certain lighting when the iPad is off. In the end you get what you pay for

Same case, here, using the one that comes with the SwitchEasy Canvas case. The slight rainbow bothers me a bit but I am waiting for the SGP Invisible Shield (matte body+ clear screen protector).

True, it is a good deal. :)

I just did a wet install of the PS crystal film yesterday, and I got quite a few air bubbles from it. I am able to get rid of some of them little by little, and I am hoping that this will continue. However, I think that a dry installation of the crystal film is the best. Just my two cents.

After a wet install, after you get all of the major air bubbles (and any others you can get out) you need to let it sit overnight and it will look much better in the AM.

SGP is as good as Power Support and about 1/3 cheaper, especially if you order enough stuff from Amazon to get free shipping.

I got a perfect install today with the steamy bathroom trick. I used to use PS products but sorry their prices are a joke. SGP is still more than I'd like to pay but a cheap/crappy screen protector just ruins a great device. Also, once you have it installed, Plexus plastic cleaner/polish is your friend. :)

I tried SGP and it was atrocious--a thousand air bubbles. Went back to my trusty PowerSupport and it's flawless as always (dry install). Obviously, YMMV.
