The 17 if it has 12GB RAM. If not the Air or regular Pro. I’m upgrading from a 2020 SE that is still quite capable but lacks RAM so I want the RAM to keep the phone useable for longer.

I have a 15PM and would only consider another pro max if I get a new phone. This would be more about a carrier change than a phone change though. Verizon coverage has tanked in my small town. I'm guessing the 5G towers just don't have the reach that the 4G towers had. Based on coverage maps, I think ATT would be better (maybe).

I’m downsizing (literally) from a 15 Pro Max to the 17 Pro. May be upgrading my AWU1 as well, as it’s down to 86% battery health and I’m definitely noticing it.

Not my usual every 2 year cycle (Apple Card 0% for 24 months), but this time I will change from 16 Pro to 17 Air.

Looking forward to the thinner, lighter phone!
Literal same! Downgraded from 13 Pro Max to 16 Pro. Mainly just missed the screen size. So a bigger screen, lighter/thinner device and less cameras on the 17 Air is very appealing. I'd like promotion but not a deal breaker. 16 Plus is on the table too if the 17 Air just isn't it for some reason

Planning on getting the 17 Pro Max. Hopefully it will come in orange color and the zoom will be atleast 5x. Rumors regarding upgrades to the front camera also make me interested.

At this point not even sure if I should upgrade. I voted for 17 Pro but only because 17 will look like 16, and I don’t like this design at all. Basically I am mad at Apple for not giving at least some sort of telephoto lens on this one: I can live without ultrawide without problem, I never use it, but I need telephoto, maybe 3x or more. Pixel 10 now comes with 3 sensors, and Apple probably will never give us 3 sensors with lowest tier device.

It feels kinda incremental year after year, iPhones do not offer anything that I like or want anymore. Cameras are same or even worse in terms of post-processing, and it is kinda hard to use RAW due to it being sluggish in terms of editing.

Unless maybe they show something extraordinary like built-in Halide-like “zero-process” photo mode that strips all post-processing and gives natural shots, then maybe I will jump to 17 Pro. Otherwise it is same old thing for me

For the first time since having the OG iPhone I’m thinking of jumping ship.

Apple don’t want to make small phones any more and that’s their prerogative.

However that’s what I want and theirs are getting bigger almost every generation putting me off more.

I’ve been eyeing the Samsung flip as I’d keep the same screen real estate I have on my 15 pro yet be able to transport it as a half size device. Only concern would be the battery life and lack of cohesion with my iPad and Mac but my patience is running out when it comes to Apple and phones.

So to answer the question, sadly I’m not looking forward to any of the 17 lineup.

Here's my history,

iPhone -> iPhone 3G -> iPhone 3GS -> iPhone 4 -> iPhone 6 -> iPhone X -> iPhone XR -> iPhone 14 Pro

Im looking at the either 16 Pro Max or 17 Pro Max, depending on price, features and final looks. It will be my first iPhone with a large screen.

Went from iPhone X to
14 Pro Max. Cost and value are not lining up for what I’m hearing the 17 series will be for me personally. Especially not in Canadian dollars with price hikes and tariffs. Will look to the 18 and see if there is anything worthwhile. I just don’t enjoy the process anymore. It used to be fun to upgrade, now it feels like a chore ripe with extortion. The Air and Orange as a colour will be fun to check out though.

I won’t be upgrading again this year just got the 16e as a stop gap until the 18 series come out which I have heard some small rumors that the 18 iPhones will have some very good features added and the a20 will be a beast of a chip👍🏻

Time for me to move on from iPhone Pro 12; which I've really enjoyed. Planning on purchasing a 17 Pro. I'll keep the 12 for a while as a backup. A few days ago I donated my backup iPhone 6 to a women's shelter.

I’m on the IUP, so upgrade every year. I’m also a gadget geek & want to upgrade every year. So, 17PM for me. I do have to admit that it’s not as appealing to upgrade as it used to be with the only major changes being to the camera (I know chips & RAM, too). I’m excited for the foldable that’s supposed to come out next year.

Going to be a hard choice for me coming up next month. My 16 Pro is absolutely immaculate and with 100% battery health so no need to upgrade. However, the 17 Air is on my radar as a thinner, lighter iPhone is something I could totally get into. Might buy one just to check it out whilst still hanging on to my 16 Pro.The rumours about next years (possible) fold have really got my attention and I would be 100% up for one of those. If I could handle the android operating system I would have bought a Samsung Fold…but I can’t, so I didn’t! So, it looks like a 17 Air is on the cards for me…wish me luck!

I'm on a 3-4 year cycle now. Last time I went from a 12 Pro Max to a 15 Pro Max and only because my mom's old phone was dying so i gave her my 12PM.

Gonna hold onto my 15PM for at least another generation.

None of the above. I bought the 16 Plus in June and regret it – it has been a buggy mess, and I’ve spent more time on with tech support than every other phone I’ve had combined. In all seriousness, I bought a dumb phone last month that I’m trialling for a while to see if I can get by without a smartphone at all. The 16 Plus is currently serving as a mini tablet at home.

I was considering the 17 but seeing their nasty ****ing move of releasing the base models 6 months later , I might get the pro ..

Apple knows the base is getting more traction even though this post doesn't show it, and with the 17 getting 120hz VRR the gap will be even smaller. There was already a huge increase in 16 base sales compared to 15 and , if not for apple sneaky move, I imagine the 17 would have gotten even more traction

I am hoping to get the iPhone 17 Air. The colors that are rumored, I just do not like. I would like blue, but not powder blue. I hope the rumors are off on the colors. If they are right, then I'll just get black.

Previously was running a 15 Pro. Got my current S25 Plus in April and I've got used to the size but missing iOS so may go for the 17PM depending on price here in the UK.
