My 14 Pro is on it's second battery and is starting to get tired again. I've talked myself into the 17 Pro.

I don't really like the overall design of the Pro Max this year, but if I can get past it I'll pick the copper, unless it's more of a goldish shade, some pictures it's hard to tell.

Will only get a new phone if I need one, not just because a new one comes out. So if I need one, I'll check the new offerings, including the 16e, and see what works best. Definitely not a giant Pro Max.

The year-over-year improvements slowed after the 12, so I only upgrade out of necessity. Getting my wife a 16E next week because the battery on her 12 is shot, and she recently dropped it and cracked the screen.

My 8+ and SE2 still see daily use as alt.phones.

But hurray for the fanboiz and their frequent upgrades! They help AAPL move forward as a company.

I have a 15 Pro. I'll likely be getting a 17 Pro because the carrier trade in deals in the US are just too good.

Edit: I've gone from a Pixel 4XL to a 13 Pro to a 15 Pro. Mainly cause I really wanted 120Hz and USBC when they dropped, but TMobile gave me like $1000 USD on the previous phone trade in everytime, its nuts.

Things I'm looking forward to are:

- improved front facing camera
- improved thermal management
- 12 GB of RAM
- improved cellular modem

Also, I think if they're gonna say the Pro models can do 8K recording, they're going to eliminate the 128GB tier on the Pro phone.

If not for having Everything-Apple in my home, I’d be getting the new Pixel. Far too deep in the ecosystem.

Have 14 Pro. Most likely getting the 17 Pro. However, I’m not too much into taking photos or videos (occasionally used). Planning pro, keeping eyes open on the Air.

Right now probably Pro for me and regular for my wife. Ultimately it depends on the exact specs, once they get released.

Have 16 pro which is running well, I am leaning towards the iphone 18 fold or whatever they will call it next year and passing on the 17. I have been tempted to get pixel fold for last 2 years but alas, have family in the apple ecosystem and do like iOS, so I am excited Apple will finally come on board with a folding phone!

I’ll probably go for the regular iPhone 17. I don’t really need all the Pro features, and if the rumors about better battery life and a lighter design are true, that’s enough for me. The Pro models are tempting, but I’d rather save the extra money unless there’s a must-have feature.
The are no such rumors for the regular 17, I believe. To the contrary, the screen will increase from 6.1" to 6.3", likely making it a bit heavier. If you want better battery life and lighter weight, the 16e or the 17e would offer that, saving even more money (at the cost of a single camera and no MagSafe).

I'm waiting on a fold next year. My 12 Pro is still holding up well (it has a replaced battery), and besides I've had to buy three new Macs (a Studio, a Mini, and an Air) this year, mostly out of schedule.

Was super set on the 17 Air since the rumours came out, but realised more and more I am not keen to compromise on battery life – my 15 Pro is already disappointing. Right now I’m leaning about 75% toward the Pro and 25% toward the Air. If the Air charges very quickly, or if it turns out to magically have good battery life I may go for it, but I doubt that will be the case.

Still on an iPhone 12 Pro too with the original battery now at 85% so I'm gonna sit on the fence again and see.

I'm a little all over the place. I'm tempted by the improved camera of the 17 Pro/Max, the thinness and weight of the 17 Air, and waiting for the easier pocketability and bigger screen of the Fold. Leaning toward waiting for the Fold. Camera-wise, I've kind of been thinking about getting a dedicated point and shoot. Coming from 16PM.

But of course, it all depends on actual camera, thinness/weight, and maybe timing when devices are actually announced.

As long as my 14 Pro Max continues to function, receive updates, and has good battery life I have no need to get a new phone. Nothing Apple has done post-iPhone 14 has moved the needle for me to want a new device anyway.
You must have gotten lucky with the 14 Pro's battery - when I had one it was awful. The 15 Pro was worse but the 14 Pro for me was is the 80s% a year later
