Indeed it is rumoured to be the last version but the original 12 Mini was no slouch or disappointment either. The 12 Mini turned out to be everything that I wanted in a smaller phone (aside from the lack of TouchID).

I’m going to wait and see how much “better” the 13 Mini will be compared to the 12. If we’re looking at a minor improvement I would rather save a ton of money and just get the 12.
That is if they don't discontinue the 12.

Oh they definitely will. But you can scoop them up easily on the second hand market, even sealed ones at a heavy discount. I’ve seen a ton of people selling their 12 Minis, probably because they find it too small for their needs.

But now thinking about it, there are two things that would definitely get me to buy the 13 Mini day one. If Apple offered the 13 in a proper shade of Product Red (like the 8 and XR) or if it had TouchID, I’d be first in line.

It's funny because I'm switching from my 12 to a 13 mini :p. I was wanting a 12 mini last year, but didn't want to wait at the time. While I like the 12 and love that it is much lighter than the 11 Pro, I feel like now the mini would've been the perfect phone for me.. since this is the last year of the mini now I feel like this is my chance. I don't watch or consume content or play games on my phone since I have the iPad for that, so I am thinking I will be fine with the battery life.

Is there going to be a iPhone Mini this year? I have a 12 Pro Max, so I'm sitting this year out (and next year as well, most likely).

If it didn't sell well last year, why have one this year? Doesn't really make business sense unless they are fixing some sort of flaw.
It didn’t sell in great numbers, but Apple still made a solid profit off it, due to its price. Besides, they already have the form factor, so why not? I believe there’s still a market for smaller high end phones, even though it’s considered a ‘niche’ now.

Coming from a Xs max ill definitely go with the 13 Pro max. I also have a S21 Ultra. So ill need the bigger screen for sure

Where is the official statement confirming that? It’s just assumptions for now.
It is, and there is not ever an official statement but just apple not bringing it back when they have the keynote, kind of like every year when they discontinue models, like the 11 Pro, etc. I guess if we want something official we'll have to wait till the Apple Event next year to find out.

don't you worry however, that its the last year of the mini? I know I would :)

Really surprised how much closer the poll numbers here are with the Pro Max vs. the Pro, not sure it was that way last time around? seems so many more have the Pro max?

Unless something drastic changes on Tuesday, I’ve finally decided I’m going with the 13 Mini. The 12 Mini just feels way too good to use to pass up on the last “mini” model for who knows how long.

Here’s to hoping with the increased battery size, Qualcomm X60, and A15 efficiency improvements that the 13 Mini will get at least an hour longer of battery life compared to the 12 Mini. Also, hoping that Kuo rumor is true about the base model starting at 128GB because that’d save me $100 when getting the 256GB size.

I’ve bought the max or the plus iPhones ever since I can remember and ya know what? I’m sick of always thinking about how big it is in my pocket. Time to try something new. Regular iPhone 13 pro for me
yes I hear ya, same for me, got the 12 Pro and like it! don't LOVE it, but good enough for sure!! and the picket size is amazing!

13 pro max upgrading from 12 pro max. I really like the size and it’s not to hard carrying it around. Just takes some time to get used to.

The pacific blue color is going to be hard to beat from last year.

Leaning towards matte black, hopefully it’s actually black and not grey, would love apple to drop the silver and release a matte white color without a pearl through it.

Not feeling the bronze, looks like it matte black or silver. 🤔
black tho, is a finger print magnet no matter matt or not! LOL

128 or 256GB Mini, depending on the price.

Will be upgrading from a 5s. (Technically a 4s, but a friend to pity on me and gave me the former)

I’m going with the iPhone 13 mini. Such awesome features packed in just 5.4”

I’m interested to see which model everyone is planning on getting and why.

Update:

I just spent 25 minutes at an Apple store trying to get a feel for which size I’d prefer, and I came no closer to a conclusion. 🤦‍♂️

I’ve been wanting to downsize from my XS Max for the past two years. I crave something more ergonomic, but I do love the larger display size and battery life of the larger phones.

I was originally planning on upgrading to the Mini, especially since this is rumored to be its last year. It feels sooo good to hold, easily the best feeling iPhone being sold right now. However, the display, as expected, is small. It shows a lot for the size, but even just holding it away from my face at normal distance, things just look small and far away. I also have reservations about the battery life because my XS Max is already barely lasting me through the day anymore. I also have downsized before (7+ to 7) and regretted it very quickly after 6 months, yet I’ve kept my pretty large XS Max for 3 years now. There’s also a part of me that’s thinking, ”you’ve waited three years and are paying hundreds of dollars to upgrade, yet you’re not going to spend a couple hundred more to get all the features available?” I’ve always gone for the most feature-packed iPhones and to pay all that money to upgrade yet still be missing out on some of the upgrades would feel kinda bad.

The Pro Max triggers my primal instincts that say less more is more. The large screen, large battery, and having all of the possible features in one phone really would satisfy my upgrade hunger. I love how immersive the screen is. I’m drooling at the thought of having ProMotion on it too. However, I noticed the slightly larger body and different shape made some things even harder to reach than on my XS Max, which is mostly comfortable for me. It’s definitely a big phone, and I’m not sure it’s wise to get if I’ve been thinking of downsizing for the past 2 years.

The 6.1 Pro is probably the phone I really should get. It would give me the Pro features, including ProMotion, it would give me the downsize that I wanted while still keeping a somewhat immersive screen and more battery. It’d be a very happy medium solid upgrade. However, for some reason, this phone feels closer in size to my XS Max than the Pro Max does. I feel like if I were to get this phone, because I’m not going from one extreme to the other (either small with the Mini or even larger with the Pro Max), that it almost wouldn’t feel like an upgrade at all.

I need help with this first world problem. 😭
Although I’m an iPhone mini lover, I think you should go with the iPhone 13 Pro. Not the Max, but the 6.1” iPhone 13 Pro. In the case that you absolutely want to upgrade this year and not wait for the iPhone 14.
