That's not what the UK AppleStore says. It says:
Delivers 24/4 in most areas
....

Guess the little birdie hasn't flown over the pond yet.:D

It makes no sense for Apple to offer preorders 2 weeks before launch and then purposely delay them past the launch day.

So if you preorder when do you get it? Sometime in May.:eek:

Interesting. Where exactly on the Apple Store UK did you find that? Some quick browsing didn't get me there.

Edit: Apple US customer support material says that it ships out, not delivers, on the 24th. You can easily debunk this one by just calling Apple (1-800-MY-APPLE). Please do share your results.

Just spoke to Apple - Apparently Australian buyers who pre-order on the 10th will have their orders dispatched on the 24th of April - and will take up to 5 business days to arrive to your door step. He said the chance of it arriving on the 24th would be slim :(

On another note, I asked if it was possible to get the black band on the 42mm Silver Aluminium Watch and he said the online store will have a mix-and-match sort of option which allows us to change things about our order like when buying a customised mac off the store and that it would be possible for me to bundle the black band with the silver aluminium watch. At least I have that going for me hopefully - besides that the rep couldn't reply any other questions because they weren't provided with them... oh well.

Ok I have a question. If I preorder on the 10th and select the in store pickup, can I pick it up on the 24th? Like will it be ready then? And it'll be reserved so I won't have to worry about them not having that model?

Most likely Applewatch will be in the US before launch date so shipping will be quick

OP u have to realize it depends on the preorder status. last year with the iphone 6 the first wave or order to be received on release day was only within minutes. if you preorder late then that means your delivery date gets pushed past the released date.

you just have to preorder on time 4/10 3amET and 12amPT. if you order within the first wave, then that means you get guaranteed delivery date of 4/24. if you're late then you won't get the release date shipment.

Absolutely understood. This is how I have received the last few iPhones on launch day. I just had seen conflicting information, so I wanted to see what the MacRumors community thought :)

Thank you! Just to clarify, I have to make the order between 3am and 12am? I think that 3am ET would be 2am CT for me

1) Go to online AppleStore
2) Select an :apple:WATCH
3) Click on the heart (top right) to include it as a favorite
4) Select Favorites from your account menu
5) Your favorites page should show the expected delivery date

I'm PST, so I wont have to stay up/wake up early to pre-order.

11:00pm on the 9th sound correct for Pacific?

For those who have done pre-orders online before - can you pay with an Apple Gift Card? I have a bit of credit I've been trying to spend and this would be a perfect opportunity.

Yup, used a Gift Card last time I preordered an iPad.

I'm wondering something..

Do I really need to stay up and wait for pre-order online or I can go to Apple Store on 10th and pre-order in-store in order to get delivery on 24th?

I would like to try it and see how 38mm and 42mm looks like on my wrist before pre-ordering, but I also want it delivered OR in-store pickup on 24th if possible.

It's really going to be hard to tell. We don't know how popular the pre-order will be; the reaction to the watch vs a typical new iPhone launch is very different.

For all we know, it isn't going to be wildly popular and every Apple store will have plenty in stock and those of us who pre-ordered will have not needed to at all.

I plan on seeing them in person first; I'm not sure I know even with the stainless steel will look that attractive in person; I may prefer the aluminum look. So I'll pre-order once I've made up my mind, but I doubt I'll do it the very first day it's possible to do so. I'd rather take my chances on not getting it on the 24th vs getting something I didn't really want.

How about preordering as soon as orders open, then going to the store on the 10th to look at the watch, then if you find you want something other than what you ordered, put in another order, and cancel the first one?
