Leopard World Premiere Party ftw. The Tiger party was really fun, and they're giving away free T-shirts.
how long was the line at the Tiger party?
I'm pre-ordering it. Simple reason really. My home is exactly halfway between my work and the Apple Store. So when I get out of work on the 26th, I just head straight home and Leopard should be waiting for me.
Driving to the Apple Store means another hour to a hour 1/2 of waiting to install Leopard.
Plus there is always the possibility of DHL being overzealous and delivering Leopard a day early

UK shipping?
I'm in the UK and have pre-ordered - but my order currently says shipping on the 26th - I hope this is wrong and they will deliver on the 26th but guess I'll know more as we get nearer to the 26th.

I'm similarly undecided. You can't get the student discount in store, but now that it's such a small discount, I might go in person anyway.

I don't get off of work until 6PM, and I don't want to fight through traffic to get to the mall my local Apple store is at. (Valley Fair for those also in Silicon Valley). I thought about driving down to the new store in Los Gatos, CA but on a Friday night, that's an even worse idea.
This is one of those times where I wish I was still unemployed so that I would have nothing better to do than take a bus to one of the stores and sit around for a free t-shirt.

yeah so do u think for us Australians leopard will get delivered on the 26th or start shipping on the 26th? i hope its the first then well get it on the friday. if not well probably get it a couple of days after.

BUT unfortunately my nearest apple store is some 400 miles away !!!
I just did an apple chat with an apple expert. (I'm in the UK) I asked if I would receive my pre order on the 26th, as it says on the site shipped by the 26th. She said no they are being shipped on the 26th and I would receive it on the Monday or Tuesday, Oh well
I pre-ordered and had it shipped to my office... my only hope is that our mailroom delivers it to me on time and I don't have to wait until Monday... that will really IRK me to no end!

The only thing is, I'm on an on-campus townhouse where the mailroom is on campus, a PO Box - and Apple won't ship there. So I would have a friend is who lives off campus accept it BUT the Apple Store also requires a signature!
So basically asking if this will work (never done it). Order Leopard with my credit card, and when I get the ship notification I'll authorize the signature online, print it, drive it over to my friends house and have him put it outside his door on the 26th, Friday.
Does that work?

Depends on the parcel company and indeed the actual deliver man/woman. Had a parcel box at my old house, most would leave parcels in it, but the odd one refused.
yeah jus i got my bf to ring em and ask about the tshirts and stuff and they didnt have any idea about it infact they didnt even know it was going to be launched on the 26th! i say they but it was the guy my fella spoke to. he told my bf that there was already hundreds of preorders on it - though i cant see them being out of stock though u never know do u?? the shop isnt very big. but ah well i would think it will be there for wednesday - i hope so or il never order stuff online again from them! my mate ordered a photo album throguh apples service and its been like 2-3 weeks or something! so slow!
Im still deciding what i should do. Do you think they'll have enough copies in stores and not run out? Because i'm not sure how early i can get there.
I will be buying at the store and trying to obey the speed limit to get home and put that disc into my iMac...WOOHOO!
