For all of us, I guess if we end up not getting our iPhones delivered on the 24th we'll at least be able to avoid the inevitable activation mess. It would suck to have our phones sitting there in their boxes, scared to try and connect/activate. I might end up resigning to just wait until Friday or Saturday anyway.

So it wouldn't be the worst thing to have to wait a little longer for delivery.
 
For people who pre-ordered at an AT&T store:


Did you get an email about your new 2-year contract like I did? I had to sign for it over the phone. The email said "Thanks for choosing the iPhone and AT&T!"
 
Update: got my e-mail conf. from ATT last night at 8:39 EST. Order date June 15, got my order number...
but my credit card HAS NOT YET been processed.
I am having it delivered.:D
 
I got mine ordered at 2:31am PST on the 15th. About 1-1/2 hours into the pre-sale and my order shows ordered on the 15th. I ordered thru AT&T and I was one of those that didn't get an email....until one finally came thru this morning at 3:00am.

And my credit card has been charged the full amount (processing).

Does your system say backordered? Mine does and I ordered relatively early. I was going to go on there sight earlier, but for some reason they didn't have the phones up for me to order at the time:(.

Same as many other people, I've got a "processing" checkmark for Premier order status, and backordered "In Process" for regular AT&T status.

All things considered, I think they did pretty well given that the ordering systems went down across the country. [Does anyone know if Apple's system went down globally?]
I'm pretty sure I'm getting one on the 24th, but I'll call Monday to be sure.

No, I was told that the contracts didn't start till the new iPhone was activated.
