I know there is a 'email confirmation' thread but I wanted to see some answers specifically related to AT&T because I see a lot of scattered threads concerning the same issue.

1. What time did you complete your order? Around 5 AM CST
2. Did you receive a order number? Yes
3. Does your order number retrieve data when entered into the site? Yes
4. Did you receive a confirmation e-mail? Nope
5. Was your card charged/available balance reduced? Yes
6. Did you order through AT&T or AT&T Premier? AT&T

So I finally received the order confirmation e-mail around 4 am CST today. Order status is still in the same position as it was beforehand so I don't think this really changed anything. Chances are just about everyone will see the email pop up by the time their phone is delivered and if not ---probably doesn't make a difference. It all just seems to be AT&T's server catching up.

No email but I know why

I never got an email either. I have been really worried that my order was not placed. It was chaos in the store and the systems went down and they promised to place the order manually. ISH!

I went online several times to check order status with my mobile number and notta. I called CSS and they confirmed that upgrades were pending. I still have not got an email. I just poked around my account and realized that my group account email address was blank. I know an email is a mandatory field these days but this is an old account and I had not entered one. I just plugged an email address into my account now. Hopefully that was why I never got one.

I doubt people who ordered in stores will get emails unless the rep took your address down (I know mine didn't).

Just plug in your zip / phone number on the AT&T order status site and see if it's there. If it is you should be good to go.

FINALLY got my order confirmation email from AT&T. I ordered around 545pm est on the 15th and just now got the email at 1026am on the 17th. Guess the emails are trickling out slowly.

I am in the same boat as you. Ordered on the 15th and now it says order date on the 16th. I was told my AT&T Customer service that it means we "didn't make their cutoff" and won't be getting ours on the 24th. But another one told me I was "guaranteed a phone on the 24th" so take both with a grain of salt. I also got an email verifying the order--but it didn't have any confirmation number in it.

If that is the case, then NO ONE is getting their phone on the 24th. Mine says the same thing and I completed my order and had the confirmation email by 3:10 AM Chicago time - 10 minutes after the order system went live.

Ultimately nobody really knows how this works because ATT doesn't really know how it works. Between the avalanch of orders, the servers going kaput, and the manual entry that entailed, all the timings are off. I'm sure they are figuring out the logistics, but obsessing over this is not helping anything.

From the start of these threads on 6/15 to right now, we know with 100% certainty ONLY that a certain amount of orders that made it under a pre-ordained time window are going to get their phones. How that time window gets calculated and everything else - only ATT knows.

Just kick back - its going to happen when it happens.

I got mine ordered at 2:31am PST on the 15th. About 1-1/2 hours into the pre-sale and my order shows ordered on the 15th. I ordered thru AT&T and I was one of those that didn't get an email....until one finally came thru this morning at 3:00am.

And my credit card has been charged the full amount (processing).

Well said. I'm not advocating for AT&T, just reporting what I know as fact. AT&T did indeed work closely with Apple prior to the 15th. The goal was to sell as many phones as possible on day one, & every day thereafter. They estimated selling x number of phones, then tripled that number & prepared accordingly. They had no idea the number of buyers would be as high as it was. Those of you that understand computer networks know the result of overloading a system. That's all that happened with Apple & AT@T. Negative news sells & people love to place blame on AT&T, it's that simple. Both Apple & AT&T lost money in this fiasco. Believe me, they would have avoided it if they could. AT&T is not the evil monster their made out to be.

those who ordered through AT&T are probably more guaranteed to get their phones than those who ordered through apple. AT&T gets an allocated number of phones that they stock in a warehouse as orders come in and are entered it takes those phones out of stock automatically. If you have been charged for the phone then you are gonna get one on June 24, 2010.

I gave up on AT&T and it's delivery. I called them and they told me that my order will be shipping in July. So I canceled the order and I'm going to the Apple Store to get my iPhone 4. (Got one reserved just in case and it's been confirmed by the store)

July? I hope you didn't speak to yet another clueless AT&T rep who just pulled some answer out of his/her ass, when it turns out you would have possibly received your order around the 24/25. Now, that would suck. But oh well if you have one reserved you should be good.

I spoke with someone from Premier Order Status and that's what they told me. But all well, it's canceled. Plus, I'm going to do a launch at the Apple Store for the first time. I've been doing it at AT&T.

I called last night and was informed that everything went through and to not worry about the email, that it should be sent out within 24-48 hours. We'll see...

Well 3 days later I'm still without email confirmation(this is turning out to be the missing link). I called again this morning and was reassured that the order looks good and everything is in order. I guess there isn't much else to do other than wait it out. Seems like more and more people are getting their emails. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

Both my premier and regular at&t order status' have it ordered on the 15th. Both are in progress/processing, however on the at&t (non-premier) order status it puts a 1 under backorder... should i be worried I won't get it on the 24/25th?
