I know there is a 'email confirmation' thread but I wanted to see some answers specifically related to AT&T because I see a lot of scattered threads concerning the same issue.
1. What time did you complete your order? Around 5 AM CST
2. Did you receive a order number? Yes
3. Does your order number retrieve data when entered into the site? Yes
4. Did you receive a confirmation e-mail? Nope
5. Was your card charged/available balance reduced? Yes
6. Did you order through AT&T or AT&T Premier? AT&T

I have a question though, do I want it to say backordered? Because mine doesn't. Also, it says my order date is the 16th when I ordered on the 15th. ANyone care to comment on that?
I am in the same boat as you. Ordered on the 15th and now it says order date on the 16th. I was told my AT&T Customer service that it means we "didn't make their cutoff" and won't be getting ours on the 24th. But another one told me I was "guaranteed a phone on the 24th" so take both with a grain of salt. I also got an email verifying the order--but it didn't have any confirmation number in it.
If that is the case, then NO ONE is getting their phone on the 24th. Mine says the same thing and I completed my order and had the confirmation email by 3:10 AM Chicago time - 10 minutes after the order system went live.
Ultimately nobody really knows how this works because ATT doesn't really know how it works.
Ultimately nobody really knows how this works because ATT doesn't really know how it works. Between the avalanch of orders, the servers going kaput, and the manual entry that entailed, all the timings are off. I'm sure they are figuring out the logistics, but obsessing over this is not helping anything.
Just kick back - its going to happen when it happens.![]()
Well said. I'm not advocating for AT&T, just reporting what I know as fact. AT&T did indeed work closely with Apple prior to the 15th. The goal was to sell as many phones as possible on day one, & every day thereafter. They estimated selling x number of phones, then tripled that number & prepared accordingly. They had no idea the number of buyers would be as high as it was. Those of you that understand computer networks know the result of overloading a system. That's all that happened with Apple & AT@T. Negative news sells & people love to place blame on AT&T, it's that simple. Both Apple & AT&T lost money in this fiasco. Believe me, they would have avoided it if they could. AT&T is not the evil monster their made out to be.
I gave up on AT&T and it's delivery. I called them and they told me that my order will be shipping in July. So I canceled the order and I'm going to the Apple Store to get my iPhone 4. (Got one reserved just in case and it's been confirmed by the store)
July? I hope you didn't speak to yet another clueless AT&T rep who just pulled some answer out of his/her ass, when it turns out you would have possibly received your order around the 24/25. Now, that would suck. But oh well if you have one reserved you should be good.

3. Does your order number retrieve data when entered into the site? Yes
4. Did you receive a confirmation e-mail? No -- This still bothers me a bit.
5. Was your card charged/available balance reduced? Yes, immediately, $319 I believe.
6. Did you order through AT&T or AT&T Premier? AT&T
I called last night and was informed that everything went through and to not worry about the email, that it should be sent out within 24-48 hours. We'll see...
When did you initially order with AT&T?
