ATT.com let me in at about 2:47 EST! I was planning to use the Apple App but that wasn't working. Not planning to use ATT.com I fumbled around for about 5 minutes and completed my order at 2:52. Delivery 11/3. Worked out fine.
This same thing happened with my 7Plus last year on ATT.com, except I made it through selection and got booted before I could complete my order. Did receive the 7Plus a couple days after launch.

It took 10 minutes for me to get into the Apple store. I ended up with Nov 17-24 delivery. Guess it could have been worse. Maybe had I chosen space gray it would have an earlier delivery date.

UK Apple store via the app on an iPhone. Email confirmation 8:05 so within 4 mins of the 8:01 opening time. Nov 3 delivery PFS.

Started refreshing the app store app on my iPhone 7 Plus around 3 AM EST and got in at around 3:03 AM EST with a confirmation also at 3:03 AM. It took me 30 seconds to order.

I checked the online website at apple.com and it did not come online until about 15 after the hour.

Silver 256GB, VZW, website available at around 0:02, completed order, Deliver by date: Nov. 3, Email confirmation received at 0:23 a.m.

Space Gray 256GB, Apple website, available around 0:10 or later, started order, received “reservation number” and told to wait for email to finish purchase. At the time website became available, deliver dates were 2-3 weeks. App was not available until after reservation obtained. Email confirmation of reservation received 2:40 PDT, have not received email to finish purchase.

The website and app didn’t come up until about 5 minutes after 2:00CST. The website came up first. Everything was going smoothly until it needed to confirm account with Sprint. Apple couldn’t connect with Sprints servers- finally at 3:51CST- I was able to get an order processed. Ship time is 5-6 weeks (Dec 11-18)- which is the same as if I’d place an order right now- so I should’ve just waited to order today- and slept through the night last night.

So I got in and completed my order at 3:07:01am EST through the ATT.com website. I was queued up right at 3am, waited a few minutes, then hit refresh on my browser and the preorder page popped up.

The Apple website and the apps I had opened on an iPhone and iPad never became "Live" for me until at least 20 minutes after 3.

The Apple Apps for the 6 & 6s series were the best ways to get your preorder done fast, but last year with the 7Plus, ATT actually opened up a few minutes before 3am and I ended up ordering through them. Again, the Apple sites took at least 5-10 minutes to become live. I think most people started to gravitate towards the Apple Store App when word got around that it was the fastest portal. Seems that may have changed with the last two phones.

As for how many people will receive launch day phones from Apple shipping versus the Carrier's shipping, that remains to be seen.

I've heard a lot about Sprint having issues.

The 5-6 weeks, hopefully, is just a safe time that is coming up. From what Rumors we have gathered, the early production issues are being taken care of which may result in more phones per day being produced than currently is happening.

Ya, 5-6 weeks, if I can recall, is the LONGEST I've ever seen for an iPhone shipping estimate.

This is with a tiny bit of pressure relieved by the iPhone 8 series. Imagine if anyone wanting an upgrade only had the option for the iPhone X if the 8 series didn't exist?

Woke up at 2:30am EST to preorder at 3:00 fell back asleep and woke up at 3:55 did a face palm then went on Apples website to be shown 4-5 week delivery.. Did another face palm then went on AT&T's website and ship date of Nov 2nd to 10th. So all in all a bit better lol.

The problem is, ATT has that little *subject to change* disclaimer next to the ship times. Hopefully the time estimates hold.

I got into the app around 12:02 or 3 pst (after force quitting the app multiple times). The website still wasn't loading yet for me. I had my phone saved in favorites and my billing info saved but it took several minutes to order because I was doing IUP for the first time and I had to retype in tons of information, verify my social, Verizon pin, etc. Couldn't believe it went through and I got a Nov 3 ship date after all that!

Strangest pre-order experience I’ve ever had with Apple.

The app didn’t open up for me until 3:19 Eastern time. I ended up with a 2-3 week delivery.

I was able to get a “reservation” via the web site, and I got an email 3 hours later saying they still haven’t contacted my carrier on that one. I see what happens with that one. I’ll keep whichever order has the earlier ship date.

How did you "refresh" the Apple store app. I used the Apple Store app on my 6s Plus. I killed all other apps and just had the Apple Store open. I would open it, then kill it. Over and over. At 12:04 it went live.

Space gray is higher demand judging by shipping dates.

Ordering through sprint was a disaster. Took me 2 hours, after dumping me out multiple times. I don’t really have a delivery date I trust yet.

Would have thought silver to be more popular now that it doesnt affect the face of the phone. I used to avoid it because older silver phones with bezels had white, which was distracting.

I completed mine 5 minutes before 3 am, so I don’t know which option to vote on

I was trying from 5 minutes before but didn’t get thru to the Apple store till 10 past. By then it had already slipped to 3-4 weeks. Wonder how you managed to slip in there.

Based on the polls on this site it seems the white/silver iPhone X is slightly more popular. I got the space gray myself.

I wasn't able to access the Apple Store app until 12:05, at which point my delivery date was November 10-17. But I did have it saved to my favorites, which saved some time, and got my confirmation email about a minute after I completed the transaction in the app.
