You still somehow managed to get in 5 minutes earlier than I did. The confirmation email didn’t come till 2 hours later when I was already sleeping. I didn’t see it till morning.

My alarm startled me out of a deep sleep at 2:50 a.m. I had decided to stay in bed with my iPad and iPhone rather than include my Mac. I had completed the pre-order to renew my IUP account a couple days ago, so I really needed to do it on my phone. At 3:01 I was ready ... I kept trying to get in with my phone and with my iPad. My iPad Apple store app opened up first, but I really wanted to do it on my phone, so that everything I had done on the pre-order would show up.

So, the minutes ticked by ... 3:05 .... 3:06 ... I knew that it would not be long before I would miss out on the Nov. 3 date. Then around 3:10 my iPhone connected and with just a few clicks I was done. Space Gray - 256 - Nov. 3.

I was so sleepy when I did the order that I didn't think to do a screen print. I turned off the light and prepared to go to sleep not knowing if I actually completed the order because I didn't get an immediate "order received" email.

So my curiosity got the better of me and I turned on the light and went to Apple's site to look at my orders and it was not there. There was still no email. So I turned off the light, thinking there was a good chance I totally screwed up and didn't place the order.

it wasn't until morning that I had the email from Apple and my order was on the site. So, now I could get excited. And it is in "Preparing to Ship" status now.

It was a total pain to be up in the middle of the night to place the order and I feel like crud today. But I'm soooo glad I did it! I can't wait for my new phone to arrive! I'm going from the 7s Plus and I think the X should offer lots of new features that I can't wait to try out!

Would have thought silver to be more popular now that it doesnt affect the face of the phone. I used to avoid it because older silver phones with bezels had white, which was distracting.

Able to log in to place order early at 258am. Placed order on verizon website by 3:02am. Received email confirmation of 11/3 delivery by 3:03am for a 256g silver iphone X.

Apple website and app was down for me until approximately 3:12am. So I'm glad I went with Verizon's website.

Probably if the phone is left outside in the sun..
It won’t shut down as fast as the darker phone. I think. 🙂

I was trying from 5 minutes before but didn’t get thru to the Apple store till 10 past. By then it had already slipped to 3-4 weeks. Wonder how you managed to slip in there.

I ordered through Verizon. They always open up 5-10 minutes early every year.

The Apple store app wasn’t open until around 3:08 for me. I was going crazy. Double tap home and swipe up to force close is something that will now give me ptsd /s. I almost ordered from Verizon because I didn’t want to miss it.

Once I got in, I had my preselected configuration ready, but during check out it sold out at the store I had picked for pickup (Georgetown). Went back and found Bethesda Row has stock. All finished up by 3:15.

For curiosity, I tried again 15 min later to see what stock was and was surprised. Both space gray configurations had plenty of availability in the DC area for launch day pickup. Even at 730am they still do.

Around 3:15-3:20am I was looking at all surrounding stores in the DC Metro area to do launch pickup but none were available for pickup so I had to stick to delivery which slipped to 11/17-11/24. Hopefully my T-Mobile order goes through before Apple.

I’ve read a few posts where the App Store apps didn’t open until xx:20+

It was the worst. I had to call in to T-Mobile while I kept refreshing the app and online.

How did you "refresh" the Apple store app. I used the Apple Store app on my 6s Plus. I killed all other apps and just had the Apple Store open. I would open it, then kill it. Over and over. At 12:04 it went live.

That’s what I meant... I killed it and restarted it.
