if you preorder don't you get it a day or two before the launch date? as won't they ship it Friday.

I am keeping my 7+ for a while longer, so I am up impatiently waiting for 12:01 to come so I can order my watch and my ATV.

Ordered 64gb in Australia they say 2/3 weeks delivery. If I find one in the wild can I just cancel my order?

Yes plus you are entitled to a 2 weeks return period, by law, at least in the EU.

Here in EU also 2-3 weeks for the 64 GB model, 32 GB is still available but slipping to 25-27 Sep.

I (pre)ordered from another retailer. Too much traumatic experiences with DHL Express on launch day. They claim it will be delivered on Sep 22.

PS: funny that the 64 GB model is either in more demand, Apple made less of them (NAND flash shortage ??) or assumed people want go for the cheapest ones based on ATV4 numbers.

My order is saying delivery on the 22nd (64gb 4k). The site now shows Sept 29-Oct 3rd delivery so I expect it's supply and demand.

Yup. Pre ordered a 32gb version here in the U.K.
hoping I can add my 4K rips to iTunes and stream to the new Apple TV 4K. Pain in the arse transferring to portable hard drives and switching across to the TV itself.

order,ed but don't have a clue how I'm going to connect it to my non-4K receiver.

when new apple TV arrives ( 2-3 weeks) I will run the sole HDMI right to my 4K television, and then run a digital optical cable back from Television to my AV receiver. I know this will seriously hamper the audio options because the digital optical audio is very limited on formats, and I will have to keep TV power up when listening to itunes audio,

terrible solution - but I don't know what else to do until someone makes an affordable hdmi splitter that can pass 4K video.

Your 4K TV will no doubt support ARC or E-ARC... Run a HDMI cable from the TV to the AVR. At the very least, when you select the AppleTV HDMI input on the TV, the TV should then swith the AVR over to the correct input.

Placed this at 5am EDT, 2am PDT, shows 2-3 weeks out
