Preorders in Canada are 2-3 weeks for 64 and 32 for September 25... I'll just pick one up at the Apple Store on release date.

Is anyone here going to be Preordering the 4k Apple TV ?
I did the 32gb one, and its actually the larger that is selling out, but i had a 64gb one once and i don't really need it for what i use it for. With 4k still being a niche you will probably find these in stores

Your 4K TV will no doubt support ARC or E-ARC... Run a HDMI cable from the TV to the AVR. At the very least, when you select the AppleTV HDMI input on the TV, the TV should then swith the AVR over to the correct input.

How is a separate HDMI from the Television to my av received different or better than running an optical cable form TV to that receiver. - both will only carry two channel audio, I think.
Note my audio rack is 25 feet from TV, and I already have an spare optical in wall.

Optical and ARC will do up to lossless stereo or lossy 5.1.

I was going to get the 32 gb on apple.com but it's already showing shipping dates of 9/29. I got one at Best Buy. They are still offering release day delivery.

My other Apple TV Gen 4 was a 64GB unit. I hardly had any data which is why I do not see any added benefits of moving to a larger capacity unit.
I was contemplating of waiting till 09/22 and walking into an Apple Store to pick the new unit out, but I did not.

Ordered it on 09/15 just after 12:01 AM for a 32GB model.
The status has now changed from "Order Placed" to "Order In Progress".

I hope the unit is shipped out before 09/22.

if you don't mind me asking, but what ate up your storage ? I bought the 32GB and only plan to add TV apps and hoping I'll have enough.

I had just about 15 TV Apps like Netflix, Youtube, Comedy Central, Fox Go, HBO Now, ABC, NBC,etc..
2 wallpaper apps, 4 games.

All my movie viewing was done via iTunes app. When I bought the Apple Tv Gen 4, I went for the 64GB option thinking I would need the extra space. But I hardly used any of it - maximum 10GB out of the 52GB available.

This is what made me choose the 32GB option for the 4K unit. I honestly believe for the vast majority, 32GB will/should suffice. 64GB at this point in time is an overkill.

I woke up to find mine preparing for shipment. Since I am not ordering an iPhone for another month. I will tell you guys in this thread good luck! lol

I always have issues at BestBuy. Last thing I bought was an Apple Watch which was an open box item. It still had the iCloud account from the previous owner on it! They refused to take it back. I had to file a complaint on that store thru corporate. And get Apple to wipe the watch for me. (Which they refused to do at first).

At BestBuy it’s always something with them. I don’t care if they paid me to shop there. I try to avoid that place as much as possible. lol

Woke up 2am CST pre ordered and went back to bed, card has been charged and now shows preparing for shipment. UPS already shows activity for shipment.

Should've jumped on this sooner but not really a huge deal since I already have an OG NVIDIA Shield. 64GB ordered Friday. Mainly excited for HomeKit automation.

Heard some odd bugs with Plex and Apple TV but I'd be lying if I said Android TV was flawless.
