I need to vent ... or ... WTF?

I got my Ipad order in to the online store on March 7. I live in Victoria BC.

Here's my tracking record to this point:
Mount Hope, ON, Canada 03/16/2012 5:25 Arrival Scan
Buffalo, NY, United States 03/16/2012 3:29 Departure Scan

So, at this moment my new Ipad is in Mt Hope Ontario 3400 km from my house. Six days ago it was 2200 km away in Anchorage Alaska. I could have waved to it as it passed over from Alaska to Kentucky.

I acknowledge that shipping systems are not straight line to destination but really, this is too much.

For the people who have received an iPad, horray for you! That's fantastic! Have you found the tracking service to be reliable? Just wondering since mine is still stuck in mount hope since about 4am....

I called UPS and they said pretty much the same thing, I said that Apple showed if you live in ZONE 1 (which I do) I would get it today and she just dismissed that and fed me the line about delivery between the 16 and 21 again.

Has anyone had their iPad show up without a 'On Vehicle for Delivery/Out for Delivery' scan?

I think that this is actually false.... as our shipment of iPads just showed up as still in Mount Hope at 11:04 AM today with a LOCATION SCAN. How the f&%k is it gonna get on a truck for delivery today in Montreal? I'm going to go and quietly disconnect my internet connection to stop refreshing this thread every 30 seconds....

.... Just make peace with the fact that I'll only get my l'il iPad next week.

UPS shouldn't make promises it can't keep :(

I ordered mine just after the Apple store came back online after the press conference. Not engraved, 32GB, white, 4G.

Oh god... Your stuck where I am... I am calling ups... This is ridiculous! It was supposed to go to mount hope last night... Then it showed up In Buffalo!

Wtf ups, that's a big mistake after it told me "in transit to mount hope"

Wasn't the shipping estimate later if you got it engraved? I the engraved ones weren't to show up til Monday at the earliest?
 
For those who's delivery dates have been changed.

Just to let you guys know, I ordered mine on 8 Mar. 16GB black.

When I ordered it promised or rather stated ships BY 19th and delivery by 21st March.

I checked it today and noticed to my horror that it was bumped back to the 27th.

I phoned customer service and told them that this was unacceptable. She stated that due to the online demand that even some people who pre-ordered would have a bit of a push back. She apologized, went to talk to someone and came back.

What she offered me was expedited free shipping AND $45.00 rebate as replacement for the cost of the cover I already received.

So, the expedited shipping might bring it to me only one day sooner, but I get a free cover for my patience. I can't complain.

Also as an update, I noticed that the ATV I ordered is now shipped by expedited shipping AND my iPad delivery has been modified to the 22 March. I guess I will have to wait and see if it changes again.

Either way, worth making the call.

Okay. I was quoted the 27th at the latest because I ordered on the 9th. However, Apple no longer shows any eta for my package. Ups had one for monday and then it disappeared after the buffalo incident.

The reason why I'm complaining is because, some people who order an engraved one had a status of "in transit to mount hope" then it showed up in buffalo. If it had in fact made it to mount hope when I was told, I'm assuming that it would have been in Vancouver by now. Plus I have no eta, and it's my grandparents anniversary gift, so I'm not having the, wait for something that's not coming!

Who do I call? Apple for my disappearing eta. Or UPS because of their mistake and no eta?

Ya I'm in the same boat as you. Really hoping it ends up in a truck today, or else I don't see the point of a) Apple waiting to ship until the day before launch, b) using UPS Express Saver shipping for next-day delivery, and b) a 4-hour delay between Arrival and Destination scans when I am used to getting packages delivered in the morning after they arrive in Regina at the same time in the morning my iPad did.
 
Still waiting... interesting how it says Out for Delivery... at 4:37 am.

cueru, I agree with you 100% and have been asking those questions myself.. if I don't receive mine today I will be asking those questions to Apple come Monday too. But for now I'm trying to remain hopeful, I'm pretty sure that I've had other things delivered via UPS that only showed 'Destination Scan', maybe UPS Regina doesn't follow proper procedures? Either or let's keep each other updated!

That's what mine looked like, up until it was actually delivered. Then they updated the "Out for Delivery" time to 8 something. Silly UPS... :)

My shipment hasn't updated its status on UPS since 5:50pm yesterday. I am a bit annoyed. I don't know if its just sitting there or if they just haven't bothered to update the information.

why order direct from the Apple store

You'd expect Apple to reward buyers for ordering direct online - these are the lowest overhead sales they have, even cheaper than the Apple retail stores. It seems counterproductive to me to be essentially penalized by getting the thing delivered LATER than if I went to the store and bought it. They should be shipping it to us earlier.
 
anyone in concord's hub - whose ipad has gone out for delivery.
There is a major chunk: vaughan, north york, toronto that gets delivered using this local dispatch.. that's a lot of ipads sitting and not making the truck

no update for me but like some of the above posters stated, I have had experiences where it was just delivered and there was no update on "on truck for delivery"

If they're not going to deliver them today and they're just sitting at Concord, they best let us go pick them up ourselves.
 
Mines been 'out for delivery' since 6AM this morning.... The wait is killing me! :p
