Preorder's in Canada ...

Those who had been given delivery dates by Apple after today can't really complain.... but we can still pout! :p

Actually, if my order had been in China for a long time and had just shipped due to the engraving, I wouldn't be as annoyed as I am now, since it was just sitting at UPS forever and just managed to miss probably the last flight from Ontario to Edmonton. :mad:

Since my Smart Cover arrived in Edmonton at 5 am 3 days ago and was out for delivery shortly after, I have little hope that there is a later flight to Edmonton and even if so, that they'd put it on a delivery truck today.

But you bet if I don't see it on Monday, there will be hell to pay. :p

Nope. It just better get here before Tuesday. Because I am not at home on Tuesday and I want to do a show-and-tell to all my friends on Tuesday. :rolleyes:

I think one really needs to consider normal UPS delivery times for your area. I mean, I go nuts all day all the time but I know my UPS guy likes to deliver at 8 pm so I shouldn't.

Well, the update went from "on truck" to "Delivered" within 5 minutes of delivery. But I don't know if that's more because the drivers do these things on the fly vs, something more automated in the warehouse.
 
Oh for god sake. Thank you ups! No delivery date. Guess the one we got was fake! They said that once it reaches the local depot is when we will get the date because of all the apple shipments! That doesn't help me!

I have the same thing, but now on yahoo ups tracking, it says location scan after the out for Delivery Scan
 
Funny thought the preorder was the best way to go to save time lining up.

But now its reported all local stores have lots of stock,
just walk in and purchase and we all are stuck here waiting a truck :)
 
I am hearing from co-workers that there is no shortage of iPads at different retailers in Calgary. Has anyone heard the same?
 
If they try to deliver it and I am not home, do they take it to a UPS store and hold it for me or do they try to deliver it again at a later date?
I was counting on them taking it to the store so I could just pick it up. Does anyone know?
 
Mine just arrived! 11:20 am local time :D (as I expected)

Perfect timing to, as I just finished the task I wanted to get done this morning - now I can head into the office and show off the new toy :)

They will try to deliver again 2 more times. Alternatively, I think you can phone them after the 1st attempt and see if you can pick it up somewhere.

Tried a search in twitter for
ipad Calgary

People reporting lots of stock, most places had 20 or so in line, and stores have 100's of iPads.
Can just walk in and buy now.
 
mine just arrived as well.

Edmonton, Alberta.

UPS driver laughed out saying "it's here." He also mentioned he's got many of

them in his truck.
