mine says preparing for shipping as well :).
white 16gb model from AT&T.
Shipping to East coast, USA

You don't really believe that do you ?

Why not? I expect that actual shipping will begin soon, if not right now. They aren't going to wait to ship one million phones on Wed or Thur. The Fri holds will still be affect, no matter how early it ships.

Per Sprint mine will be shipping UPS. They better come in the morning and no the evening

It would make sense that those who ordered earlier are showing preparation for shipment. As one user pointed out already, they're probably just going down the list of orders.

Mine is still processing, 16 white, actually got my order in at 12:45 AM PST opening night, but I'm sure there are so many that it's going to take awhile for all of the statuses to be updated.

It does not matter.

It really does not matter when your status changes to "prepared for shipping" or even "shipped." Most everyone will get them on the 14th. I am sure maybe a few will get it early. The thing to remember is that these phones will be shipping from multiple places. Some will come from China and others will come directly from the States or other places in Europe. For this reason, some people will see that their phones will have shipped before others etc...We will all get them on launch though. :p

I live in the middle of nowhere so I think I will receive it a little bit later, after the weekend I think! But it doesn't matter that much, I survived a year with my iPhone 3G on 4.2.1! XD

Usually they (Sprint) ship Fedex. Where are you reading that the shipping will be done by UPS? I will be happy if they do ship UPS because he doesn't come until after I get home from work!

Unfortunately the FedEx and UPS guys both come to my house by 8AM.

ACKK!! I need to be up by 6AM on the 14th.

Siri : wake me up at 6AM on the 14th.

Im new to Sprint so the customer service lady gave me the site to track my order and said once it ships, the UPS tracking number will populate in the tracking spot. So she may or may not know what shes talking about

UK here, still processing :(

Ordered a 32GB White as soon as the Apple Store went live about 8:30-8:40AM (UK)

It will be different in the UK as they normally ship them from the UK rather than individually from China like in the US. So it may not go to Preparing for Shipment until Thursday and you would still get it Friday.

In fact the UK store never used to even have the preparing for shipment status, it just went straight from processing to dispatched unless you checked the status from the US store.

5:22AM EST

32GB Black AT&T Prepared for shipment. Other 32gb and 64gb still processing.

my white 16gb is still processing as of now; ordered around 9:30AM CST

edit: its an at&t phone

anyone have a white 4s that preparing for shipping yet?

hehe both prepared for shipment :D! still processing apple care though:eek:

Mine is still processing (16GB White Verizon), but I just received this email from Apple.

Dear Apple Customer,

Thank you for your recent iPhone purchase at the Apple Online Store.

We would like to let you know that every iPhone comes with one year of
hardware repair coverage through its limited warranty and up to
90 days of complimentary support. AppleCare+ for iPhone extends your
coverage to two years from the original purchase date of your iPhone
and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each
subject to a $49 service fee.

We noticed you weren’t given the opportunity to add AppleCare+ to your
iPhone. If you would like to extend your coverage for only $99, please
reply to this email.

Thank you for shopping with Apple.

Sincerely,
Apple Online Store Team

Exact same here on the email but black colored iPhone instead of white. Same GB size though.
