IIRC, when the iPhone 5 came out, you could search the normal shipping companies by your phone number to find your tracking number before Apple gives it to you.

Cancel and just lineup at the Apple Store 2-3 hours in advance! November is just too damn far.
Finally fully in the club! Both mine and my husbands are preparing to ship. Come on tracking...
Apple ship dates are usually worst case scenario...and have shipped earlier, so if you have a first week of OCT, and it is preparing for shipping then you may get lucky...plus at that stage i do not think you can cancel at that time.

I've ordered a few iPhones and have never had the phone delivered before the day quoted. Nothing like getting the 14-21 day notice and realize that means "business" days.

I'm wondering about this as well. Mine and my wife's orders changed to preparing for shipping this afternoon.
I'm reading threads from the iphone 5 release and it varies widely. People began to look up their tracking number on ups.com on Sunday before they received the tracking info from apple.
Mine has been shipped! Says expected date is 9/18... the day before release day? I'd love that
How do you know? Did you get a tracking number? Who's shipping it FedEx or UPS?
My order has now joined my friends and its preparing for shipment and the money has been taken from my account. For now I can sleep easy.
Now to get through to AT&T Premier to cancel the order I have with them without being instantly disconnected would be nice

AFAIK, It was only the iPhone 4 that had a bunch delivered before the actual release day. They said it was to alleviate the activation crunch. I think that was the last ATT exclusive iPhone, though, which likely had something to do with it. I got mine the day early and there was some confusion when I called to activate it - the rep initially thought they couldn't activate them until the next day, but it went through. I highly doubt any significant number will arrive early.

I got a tracking number. I used the Verizon website and it says expected date is 9/18, I tried using the tracking number for both FedEx and UPS but it didn't work. Maybe I gotta give it a day or so to register?
Did any of you choose "In Store Pickup," or home delivery?
